CUSHING'S COFFEE AND COFFIN NAILS : RATE YOUR FRANKENSTEIN : QUICKIE QUIZ AND CHRISTOPHER LEE ASKS 'WHAT DO I DO FOR AN ENCORE?'

AN ADDITION TO CHRISTOPHER LEE birthday post, here is another very interesting INTERVIEW! Lots to see here and some more interest stories with Lee sharing his thoughts on the American method of film making at the time, his love of opera, the 'art' of making the unbelievable- believable and his time with Hammer films and Peter Cushing!

OVER AT THE FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE TODAY, I've had a quick look through the Peter Cushing Frankenstein posts, and it reveals these two Hammerfilms titles, appear to have more than their fair share of negative responses. But how would you rate them against each other? I'd love to read any of your thoughts and opinions on your rating too. Ten is highest ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have fun! This could be interesting...

ALSO AT THE PCASUK FACEBOOK PAGE PETER CUSHING fights the GOOD fight! We're asking for the thread 'what film is this and who is he playing?? and 'only THE correct FULL name please' ๐Ÿ˜Š  It's a challenge, that ain't that simple . . .

FOLLOWING A BIT OF INTEREST a few days ago in this magazine photo advertisement that Peter Cushing did for NESCAFE in what I think was the late 50's 1960's, promoted me to think of another AD he did at another time. Peter Cushing was very much a tea man, in the morning, afternoon, night-time and any other time, he could fit in the flow of a cup or four! He would think nothing of having a constant stream of his favourite brew at the ready. What my Gran called a 'Tea Belly'! Which makes a bit of a mockery of his 1960's press advert for instant #Nescafe coffee! Hey! It's work! ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜‰

THE COFFEE AD TURNED UP on the 'POSTS BY OTHERS' at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE section where Dave Robbins of Nottingham (?) UK, posted the coffee ad, he says he had not seen before. Well, there's more AD's like these and one in particular, from a time and attitude 'loooog gooone' for 'Deadly Lady Tobacco' comes to mind, with a strap line, that would get advert and promotion guru's spluttering their coffee and coughing their 'coffins nails' across many, many miles! - Have a great day everyone and take care - Marcus

CHRISTOPHER LEE AND VINCENT PRICE BIRTHDAYS CELEBRATED TODAY MAY 27TH 2020!

CELEBRATING TWO VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY'S TODAY! It was a fact the never seemed to not amuse all three of them, that Peter Cushing's birthday was May 26th, and BOTH #ChristopherLee AND #VincentPrice celebrated their birthdays on the following day, May 27th! How weird is it also that #BramStoker's novel '#Dracula' was published in 1897 on ... May 26th?!! A book that was more than an influence in one way or another, on all three of their careers??

ALL THREE WE KNOW are still very much missed and celebrated, we have many times asked this question of Peter's work, but can you remember the first film you ever saw which starred Christopher Lee ... and the first that starred Vincent Price..and are there any of their films you have still yet to see?? If you are planning a Christopher Lee or Vincent Price FILM BINGE today or on the weekend please share your idea of the #PERFECT #playlist, at the Facebook PCASUK Fan Page! I am sure many here would appreciate the suggestions, to make their #BINGE go with a #BANG!

MEANWHILE... please join us here and at THE FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE in remembering and celebrating BOTH Christopher and Vincent TODAY...Happy Birthday Gentlemen and Thank You! - Take Care everyone and stay well๐Ÿ˜‰- Marcus

HAMMER DRACULA TRAILER FOR GEEKS AND ANORAKS! CAN YOU SPOT THE EXTRA??

#ISOLATIONENTERTAINMENT #WatchWithCushing2020! The THEATRICAL trailer for Hammer films 'Dracula' 1958, is something most #Hammerfilms, #PeterCushing and #ChristopherLee fans will know very well indeed, from countless viewings of what has to be one of best #FantasyCinema trailers ever! The trailer was the same throughout it's release in 1959, other than in the US it where it was called 'Horror of Dracula', but the expected different voice overs for the trailer narration, the dubbing languages and a changed the title also, a few snips here and there maybe for censorship, were all standard.

BUT IN THIS version, there is something that appears, that wasn't seen anywhere else... not even in the actual full film!! It's very quick, fleeting . . an 'extension' but it's there! Question is, can you spot it? There is a terrific competition being launched here at Facebook PCASUK Fan Page on Tuesday, with a fabulous prize! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰ This should... whet your whistle ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have fun, stay safe and look after each other ๐Ÿ˜‰ - Marcus

#WATCHWITHCUSHING! POSTING AND SHARING  a great INTERVIEW with actress WANDA VENTHAM today here and at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE certainly has taken off! Mr H does well with the questions and some answers are quite surprising! Wanda has a great fan club site too RIGHT HERE!: Enjoy! Keep safe, stay well and look after each other ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰- Marcus

CAN YOU NAME THOSE FACES???

POSTED TODAY over at The UK Peter Cushing Appreciation Society Facebook Fan Page Peter Cushing and a gathering of other film and tv stars, who came together to help Save Hammer Films Bray studios in 1990. Cushing was actually helicoptered to the site, from his home in Whitstable, Kent to Bray studios on the day and landed on the green, just at the side of the Thames river! I put out the question of, how many of those four other faces did everyone recognise?? A question that proves that PCASUK is an international society and that there are certainly more followers and fans of Peter Cushing at the PCASUK sites from the US and Europe than there are from the UK! It was a tough question, with only a few correct suggestions! Can YOU name those faces? I will post the answer here tomorrow!

DID YOU MISS THIS? NO PANIC THERE IS STILL TIME!

HAVE YOU MISSED THIS? It's still LIVE but time is ticking ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Here is director Joe Dante short review of the film 'The Flesh and the Fiends' which gives a little idea of really, how great this movie is! The trailer played in this clip is the US trailer, where the film was christened with the 'subtle' title of, 'The Fiendish Ghouls'. Hmm nice. It arrived on it's first outing as 'Mania', following the trend of 'one-word-titles' craze since the success of Hitchcock's 'Psycho'! As Dante says 'The film is greater than it's title, it's a pretty good movie and deserves better. One of the virtues of British horror movies at this time is, they are played as if they were Shakespeare. There's no winking or nodding or campy quality. The actors in this picture take everything seriously....' CLICK HERE! and enter! Good luck everyone ๐Ÿ˜ Take care and look after one another ๐Ÿ˜‰- Marcus

#VINCENTPRICE TALKS THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE AND HINT OF THE 107TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION TO COME!

A LITTLE TREAT for SUNDAY over at FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE! It's a little seen interview with #VINCENTPRICE speaking about his latest role as 'the voice' of prime villain Professor Ratigan in the Disney cartoon 'Basil The Great Mouse Detective'. This interview was broadcast in 1986 by the UK ITV children's programme 'Splash'. You can see it . .

HERE ARE THREE interesting and rare publicity photographs, that could give you a CLUE as to what I have in line for a #PCASUK #Competition to mark the 107th celebration of Peter Cushing's Birthday this month! I think we are going to have us some fun

TODAY I'VE ALSO PLANTED this very rare and interesting publicity photograph of Peter Cushing at the Fan Page. IF you can recognise the character Cushing is playing here and name the film in which it appeared, you have a CLUE to an element that will be part of a COMPETITION I'll be launching during the PCASUK celebration of 107th  anniversary of Peter Cushing's birthday this month! I think we are going to be having some fun that day! Please stay SAFE and look after yourselves ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰ - Marcus

#CHRISTOPHERLEE INTERVIEW : #PANTS! SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE! #LEATHERBIKERS AND MARRIAGE!

#WATCHWITHCUSHING! Over at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE I have posted a NEW INTERVIEW with Christopher Lee for you this #pcasuk #ChristopherLee Saturday! RIGHT HERE! I believe this was shot by THAMES Television in the UK. Here he covers quite a bit! New stories, he is relaxed, having fun, even though the presenter is a bit of dope.. you'll spot it! UK 'all-round ace entertainer' Lionel Blair is polite and more on the button. Lee and his #trousers / Pants story is funny and one #PeterCushing would have appreciated!

THERE ARE SEVERAL little nuggets, subjects that Lee has covered many times, but you can see the method which many actors use, like Cushing, when they start the 'chat and yak' show circuit over years . .  you keep something back! This seems to be the case here, '... now with a little more detail, the EXTENDED version!' ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜‰ Shame on me, but I still have yet to catch Lee in '#Serial' (1980) . . if you have seen it, please share come over to the Facebook Fan Page and SHARE your thoughts and opinions on the THREAD! ๐Ÿ˜Š Please stay well and SAFE! - Marcus

ALSO SHARED ON THE FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE is THIS little bit of fun that was posted to me a few days ago! I have seen it around, and thought you may have missed it! I have no idea who the artist is, if it is YOU please shout and I will of course credit you ๐Ÿ˜Š On posting this fine picture / painting this morning UK, it was no time at all before some eagle-eyed follower remembered something very similar from a long way back in #Hammerfilms #TheVampireLovers, one General von Spielsdorf, played by Peter Cushing!

UPDATE: FOR A FEW HOURS, I sat while reading several comments on the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE about this post with Cushing in his multi medalled painting / portrait. I kept thinking where has that head come from.. . . it doesn't look like it's sitting correctly on those shoulders and collar? Then the obvious finally hit me, I am even slower these days of isolation and bouncing off four walls. It IS of course lifted off the NECK in this photograph, I have posted here.... many times!

A DIFFERENT DOCTOR WHO FROM A DIFFERENT TIME THAT COULD HAVE BEEN?

#MEANWHILE IN A #TARDIS, not that far away! Here is a FINE piece of 'imagine IF' art from the twitter page of 'Timeless Tim'! #PeterCushingISDrWho! I have no idea who did this work, but would love to so I could congratulate them. IF only. You can see how the whole concept would work. The image of Peter Cushing is from around the mid 1960's 'Frankenstein Created Woman' time, the lab coat 1957, 'The Curse of Frankenstein', a wonderfully appropriate TARDIS interior . . an the 1970's K9, is the cheery on the cake...it crosses all kids of era's, styles and Doctor Who periods of time Just like all the best episodes, all about time ๐Ÿ˜Š Over at the Facebook PCASUK Fan Page we are asking, 'Would YOU have WATCHED this, as a TV series??' Feel free to join in on the opinions and comments!

CONNECTING NICELY to the post above, here's a great photograph on set of Cushing's Dr Who in 'Dalek Invasion Earth 2150 AD' I remember when first seeing this pic when I was I my early teen and being shocked that the set was actually INSIDE the lots at Shepperton studios! Clever chaps, these film makers ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

ALSO MARKED AT THE   FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE TODAY MAY 14TH is  the birthday of Eric Morecambe, one half of the most successful comedy team in the UK. Still missed, loved by all, with Eric's passing back in 1984, it left a hole not only in the entertainment world but also in people's hearts. With his partner, Ernie...they provided one of tv's longest running gags, 'Peter Cushing and his Money!'... he did eventually get it , but not until the boys, had a lot of fun with it, stretching over many years and several programmes. God bless, Eric, Happy Birthday and thanks for all those precious memories and laughs ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜€

ABOVE is one of my favourite Peter Cushing guest spots with Eric and Ernie! Peter has come for his money, paying for when he is first appeared on their show. It's ironic that the BBC wanting value for money, also show a clip from that previous show, in this one!! Eric's teasing of Ernie for being tight with money was really a cover for the reputation the BBC had for being known as notoriously tight and mean with paying anyone... except their executives, in the 60's and 70's! Times haven't changed....
