#DAVIDWARNER : A HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND THE SPOT ON ACTORS QUOTE

PLEASE JOIN US in wishing DAVID WARNER a Very Happy Birthday Today! Warner's #PeterCushing connection is the role of Edward Charlton (segment 1 "The Gate Crasher") in #Amicusfilms 'From Beyond The Grave' in 1974. A great story, a fine performance...particularly enjoyed his play with Cushing in the Temptations Ltd store... but what a sticky end!

WARNER'S breakthrough role on screen was his lead performance in the Karel Reisz film 'Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment', for which he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

'I know some actors take acting terribly seriously. I take it seriously in that, if someone pays me to do it, I know I have to deliver! There were certain young actors I had trained with at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art who had always got the big parts and I was always the spear-carrier. Suddenly the roles were reversed and I couldn't understand why, and nor could they': David Warner

WARNER HAS ALWAYS BEEN QUITE A DIVERSE actor, who has portrayed both romantic leads and villainous characters across a range of films, including The Ballad of Cable Hogue, #StrawDogs, Cross of Iron, #TheOmen, #Holocaust, The Thirty Nine Steps, Time After Time, #TimeBandits, #Tron, A Christmas Carol, Portrait in Evil and let's not for get Spicer Lovejoy in the 1997 #Titanic, for which he was nominated – Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

WARNER HAS ALSO DRAWN quite the following for his performances in '#StarTrek The Final Frontier', then as #Gorkon the chancellor of the Klingon High Council in 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country' and as Gul Madred in the 'Star Trek The Next Generation' episodes "Chain of Command Pt. I & Pt. II"

Here's to many more years and superb entertainment, from quite a gentleman who always brings very interesting and entertaining work to the screen... Happy Birthday David Warner!

ACTORS, #celebrities putting their validation to products and events has always been a good side line for money in the bank, especially if your name was #VincentPrice. Price did many commercials, #PeterCushing did Nescafe Coffee, cigarettes, clothing and ties! I wonder about #ChristopherLee? Does anyone know of any TV, radio or press promotion for any product lines? 'No Jelly' I guess, is long gone? But, I wonder how that tasted??? Friends here with a sweet-tooth and a good memory, please let me know? I see Vincent moves to bite it, but the actual bite and tasting, we DON'T see 😆 Over at the Facebook post, lots of detail on Price's family and the family CANDY FACTORY, along with Vinnie's GRANDFATHER who produced, healthy grain and nosh. It all sounds a little too frighteningly like John Harvey Kellogg, to me...obsession with bottoms and bits and pieces ... makes Frankenstein sound like 'a nice man' 😁  You can find the clip over at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE POST HERE!- Marcus

#NURSES #VAMPIRES AND #CARRYON'S : REMEMBERING ACTRESS VALERIE VAN OST

TODAY, over at the Facebook PCASUK Fan Page we are
REMEMBERING actress VALERIE VAN OST, who was born on this day, in 1944. Van Ost appeared in THREE films also starring #PeterCushing, #Corruption, #IncensefortheDamned and #TheSatanicRitesofDracula. Valerie was also very popular in the 'Carry On' series of films in the 1960's, “Carry On Cabby,” “Carry On Don’t Lose Your Head,” “#CarryOnDoctor” and '#CarryOnAgainDoctor,'. Van Ost’s sad passing was announced in 2019 by agent Barry Langford who said in his tweet, “A sad goodbye to beautiful Valerie Van Ost, who passed away this week. Valerie gave up her successful acting career to become a respected casting director and was beloved in both profession".

#VANOST, a native of #Herkamsted, #Hertfordshire, turned to acting after she had been a dancer in her teenager at London’s famed Palladium theatre. It's believed that at one time she was once considered to be a possible replacement for #DianaRigg as Emma Peel in “#TheAvengers,” having once appeared in an episode of the show.

IN 1973, Van Ost took on her other most famous role, in the #HammerHorror movie, “The Satanic Rites of Dracula'.” Van Ost played the role of a Secret Service secretary who is kidnapped by a satanic cult. Van Ost was married to movie producer Greg Smith. Smith had been the producer of Britain’s other great bawdy comedy series, the “Confessions” series of movies in the 1970s.

LATER IN 1985, Van Ost married Andrew Millington, with whom she set up a casting agency. This coincided with Van Ost’s retirement from acting. The pair cast five movies and a television series during the 1980s. Two of those films, “The Boys in Blue” and “Funny Money” were produced by her first husband.

TODAY, why not come over the the Facebook PCASUK Fan Page and help us remember and celebrate Valerie Van Ost's career and life too?  . .
