FRIENDS : CUSHING TALKS LEE AND LEE TALKS CUSHING : AWARDS AND PRAISE FOR PC

PETER CUSHING was a such a humble guy, when he received awards, praise and such, he still seriously thought about, IF he did actually deserved such recognition!. Even his appearance on #ThisIsYourLife, they broke with convention and gave him the heads up. But he did receive several awards over the years, quite a few career changing ones in the 50's... more nods and acknowledgments in the later.. His award for his performance in #TalesfromtheCrypt was very well deserved . . as were the others. BUT do you think there were performances that slipped by, that should have been awarded? Over at the FACEBOOK PCAS FAN PAGE we are asking, are there roles that you have watched, where you think, THAT should have been given more recognition and maybe a well deserved award?? I would love to read your suggestions . . no matter what role you think worthy 🤔😊 - Marcus

PRYDE VS TARKIN! TIN PIN TARKIN STILL STANDING AS PRYDE JOINS THE SAGA!

OF ALL the items in the PCAS collection, this is something I have a real soft spot for 🙂 It's a Peter Cushing Tarkin Pin / Badge! It was given to me by Gladys Fletcher, who started PCAS back in the 1950's. Seems it was given to her by a fan back in 1977, and she passed it on in 1978. I love the font and considering how old it is now, it's aged rather well. I don't collect pins and I have only worn it to a convention back in 1980. It's lived in a little box for safe keeping since then. There are now many pins, badges, fridge magnets and all sorts depicting Peter as 'the most evil man in the universe!' but as I have never seen this pin anywhere else, it's pretty special . . Over at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE we've invited everyone to share images of any special or vintage Cushing, Tarkin or Star Wars pins, and the results are quite interesting!

THERE HAS BEEN AN ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY, of what is seen by some fans as an interesting addition to the army of #STARWARS characters of actor! British actor #RICHARDEGRANT is playing #GeneralPryde, a villain of similar #TARKIN proportions in #THERISEOFSKYWALKER, released this December, is most exciting! I wonder if we will be sharing vintage tin pins of Grant's Thrawn in 40 odd years time??? I do  hope, Grant is my top five favourite actors. We wait, with much anticipation and I don't think, we 'Over Estimate His Chances!' 😉😊😀

GENTLE GIANT HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE PROWSE

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the One and Only, DAVE PROWSE aka DARTH VADER, born today July 1st 1935. For many years, Dave has been a very familiar face on the convention circuits all over the world and friend to millions. Many of us first became aware of Prowse when he played the 'monster' of the title of Hammer films last Frankenstein film with Peter Cushing, 'Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell' in 1974 with Shane Briant and Madeline Smith.

IN 1977 he would be chosen by director, George Lucus to play, a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader in 'Star Wars: A New Hope' but ultimately seduced by the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord..... who along with Peter Cushing's, Grand Moff Tarkin would become the films' most fearsome characters.

PROWSE HAS held a whole career of playing roles where his stature has given him the edge, not all baddies, thugs, monsters and heavies... for many thousands of children, he was the face of the UK Children's road Safety campaign
