#THROWBACKTHURSDAY: It's the Peter Cushing character that keeps on giving! Peter Cushing's #GRANDMOFFTARKIN is now one of the exclusive #bobbleheads in the range of #STARWARS characters!

I received a message on our Peter Cushing Facebook Fan Page tonight from Scott Jones, and what a treat it was!  Scott said, 'I thought you'd get a kick out of this. I received my first Smuggler's Bounty Funko box for this month and included was an exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin Funko Pop doll!!'!

ALL CREDIT to  Reily John  Joyce, who came up with this gag. Ha !

Now, this would be the kind of subject matter that would fit perfectly into out themes on #TOOCOOLTUESDAY...but this couldn't wait until next week, so I shared it tonight. Right away, a slow trickle of interest started, and soon some of you commented and messaged that you had wasted no time and jumped onto a 'well-known-sales-site' to purchase your very own #TARKINFUNKOPOPDOLL... it seems prices are god right now. So, if you are a collector, and #starwars #funkopopdolls are your thing, this could be the very next  thing you need to add to your collection!

#GIMMETHEGIF : HORRORS IN THE PET SHOP AND MURDERS IN A PARIS ZOO

THIS WEEK'S #GIMMETHEGIF Wednesday requests, brings a nice selection of moments from Peter Cushing's film and television performances. At the TOP, for D Brandshaw that shocking moment from the Hammer House of Horrors tv series, THE SILENT SCREAM (1980). Peter Cushing makes his last appearance in a Hammer film production.

NEXT IN THE ROW is that lovely money shot, from 'BIGGLES: ADVENTURES IN SPACE AND TIME' ....  where we find out,  just who is that suspicious shadowy figure! Tina Goodwin, this  is your GIF!

AND FINALLY a performance that does get much in the way of column inches, because it's been so long since anyone has actually seen the film! 'THE LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF' has gained more interest through being a film that STILL has no legitimate release on dvd or blu ray, than for being a very god film! Peter Cushing's performance has some very nice black comedy moments, and you get the impression, this is a film, that Cushing actually enjoyed making! C. Hughes, you made a great choice for your GIF request.. that look says it all really!

#TOOCOOLTUESDAY: HORSE DRAWN HEARSES AND DRACULA'S WOOLEN CARDIGAN

#TOOCOOLTUESDAY: TOO COOL ITEM NUMBER ONE: The Horse Drawn Hearse, as featured in Hammer films, 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave'. We are sure this hearse was featured in some other Hammer Films too. PERHAPS you would know which ones???

A point of interest for those who caught our photograph post on #ONSETSATURDAY of the old lady in the coffin, from the 1958 Dracula, with her blanket for comfort... Well, take look at what Veronica is sitting on in the back of the hearse? Someone's woolly cardigan! Dracula's? This is starting to get a bit 'strange'!

#TOOCOOLTUESDAY THAT HORSE DRAWN hearse again with Christopher Lee and Ewan Hooper in Hammer films, 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave' 1968.

COMMANDER SCAR DANGEROUS OLD DUFFER FROM FLORIDA OR COOL KEEPER OF AQUA ZOMBIES?

IT'S #MONSTERMONDAY, where we start the week looking into the souls of the poor unfortunates who give us the fright factor in some of Peter Cushing's most chilling cinema classics! This week, for those of you who managed to catch Cushing's performance in the 1977 under water zombie fest 'SHOCK WAVES' ..we ask you to consider the following...was his character SCAR, a Monster? A Murderer and all-round -World War II Bad Egg OR the sad remnant of a terrible time in world history, just left alone to rot along with those 'sea bobbin' zom-bods? OR is SCAR a totally first class chap and ahead of his time, bringing us the very first Nazi-zombie genre flick, the terrifying cinematic concept of underwater -all-swimming-all flesh-munching-aqua-zombies?? YOU decide!

NO TIME FOR RETIREMENT : ONCE AGAIN THE GAME IS AFOOT AND GIFS

CHRISTOPHER LEE PLAYED Sherlock Holmes three times in his career first in Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace (1962) in which he was unfortunately dubbed by another actor, and twice more in the TV films Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady (1991) and Incident at Victoria Falls (1992) Not discussed as often as other roles in Lee's career, how do you rate his performances as Holmes?

CHRISTOPHER LEE as Sherlock Holmes with Morgan Fairchild and with Patrick MacNee as Dr Watson in TV film "Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady" (1991)

PETER CUSHING AS HIS OLDER SHERLOCK and Jenny Laird as Mrs Hudson..... proving even Sherlock Holmes gets stressed! And talking of stress, This 1984 film, The Masks of Death, Peter Cushing last performance as Sherlock, originally started as a project kick started by Tyburn films producer, Kevin Francis... it was to have been a new version of The Hound of the Baskervilles. Francis intended to cast Peter as Holmes, which would have been Cushing's third take on the Doyle tale, after the 1959 Hammer production and the two-part production for the 1968 television series..it was to have featured a stop-motion dog created by Ray Harryhausen!

However, STRESS....funding for the proposed film collapsed, and that led to Francis discussing an original tale with Hammer films writer Anthony Hinds. Peter Cushing considered Sherlock Holmes to be his favorite role but now with his age, Cushing being in his 70s, it required the part to be written for a much older Holmes....so Holmes was brought out of retirement and 'The Masks of Death' was born!

A SPECIAL DAY : A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY GIRL : GIFS PICS GOODIES AWARDS AND WATER HORROR!

A SPECIAL DAY.. A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY: Join us in wishing VERONICA CARLSON a VERY Happy Birthday TODAY!

ITS A WATER-HORROR MOMENT for Veronica Carlson in Hammer films 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) starring Peter Cushing, Freddie Jones and Simon Ward.

An AMAZING PORTRAIT of  Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein,  a great  example of Veronica Carlson's skill as an artist.

Probably the most suspenseful scene in the entire movie 'The Ghoul' (1975) with Veronica again cast with Peter Cushing . . .

#ONSETSATURDAY: NEW CANDID CUSHING AND LEE CHAT : BLANKETS FOR VAMPIRES AND DRAC'S ON ICE!

#ONSETSATURDAY : LAST MEETING: Here's a NEW CLIP from our 'The Last Meeting' footage of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee meeting for the last time in 1994. This is a clip is a cracker, were Peter asks Christopher Lee to tell him some of his favourite anecdotes. Lee of course obliges with impressions too! So, here for the last time, Peter giggles at the stories of actor Sir Ralph Richardson, Sir John Gielgud ,Sir Noël Coward...and Chuck Connors!!!! Enjoy. More clips HERE at our PCAS YOU TUBE channel!

#onsetsaturday : Here is quite a commonly seen behind the scenes still from Hammer's 1958 Dracula, but no one ever seems to notice that the 'un-credited actress' playing Valerie Gaunt's aged vampire, is in fact snuggled up all toasty-like with a blanket around her LEGS! The stories of Bray studio's stages being like a arctic winter are well known, the elderly lady was obviously feeling the chill...despite vampires..already being DEAD!

When we interviewed Michael Gough in the early 1990's he remembered the actress quite well shooting her scene, and that she was also shocked and a little upset when she arrived at the studio that morning, having been told, the job was 'no lines playing a sleeping grand-mother'! She wasn't happy at all! But after a comforting cup of tea, decided to carry on...... Hammer were obviously spoiling her..blanket, cups of tea...

#ONSETSATURDAY : STILL ON THE DRACULA THREAD, but minus Peter Cushing and his Van Helsing, here is a rare on set colour transparency shot from Hammer's 'DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE', with actor Ewan Hopper as a 'faith-faltering' Priest, about to resurrect, the 'Lord of the Undead', Dracula who lies just under the ice! One trickle of blood from the holy father's head, is all it's going to take!
