#FRANKENSTEINFRIDAY!: Just a reminder that NETWORK releases their much awaited blu ray box set of the popular Hammer house of Horror tv series next month. They have just released details of the release along with the cover and slip case design. What do you think? I am sure you know that Peter Cushing is included in the series, in weird little tale called, 'Silent Scream'  . ..  you'll never see your local pet shop in in the same way ever again!

'This star-studded anthology from Hammer Films presents thirteen unforgettable tales of spine-chilling terror. Reimagining classic Hammer themes in a contemporary British setting and signalling a new direction for the legendary film studio under the aegis of producer Roy Skeggs, the series blends the supernatural with a very modern horror – from hauntings and demonic possessions to sinister incarcerations and cannibalism...

REVIEW AND GALLERY : HERE!

A huge hit on its first ITV transmission, Hammer House of Horror boasts a consistently high-calibre cast including Peter Cushing, Diana Dors, Denholm Elliott, Brian Cox and Sian Phillips. The complete series is featured here for the first time in a stunning new High Definition restoration from the original film elements in its as-transmitted fullscreen aspect ratio.'

LITTLE PET SHOPPE OF HORRORS : HAMMER HOUSE : MARTIN BLUECK

#MONSTERMONDAY : Requested 'Monster' by Lexi Conroy .Twisted Tormentor? Visionary? War Criminal and Murderer? ... nice old guy, who owns a pet shop?? You decide! Peter Cushing's performance for me personally was the highlight of Hammer films return to the small screen 1980, after an absence of some ten years, when they made another classic tv series, 'Journey Into The Unknown'. The Silent Scream is the standout episode, with some real suspense, and a real twisted plot, and killer lines! A young Brian Cox also stars!

UPDATE: At the FACEBOOK FAN PAGE, the vote is in : MONSTER! #monstermonday : When one usually thinks of an 'evil' role Cushing played in his long career...Frankenstein in 'Must Be Destroyed' and Tarkin in Star Wars come to mind... but here is someone who because it was a tv series, many may not be aware of? As featured in our earlier #monstermonday post.... Peter Cushing as Martin Blueck... if you were undecided about his credentials to be pure evil, take a look at this gif..... what a monster!

#GIMMETHEGIF : HORRORS IN THE PET SHOP AND MURDERS IN A PARIS ZOO

THIS WEEK'S #GIMMETHEGIF Wednesday requests, brings a nice selection of moments from Peter Cushing's film and television performances. At the TOP, for D Brandshaw that shocking moment from the Hammer House of Horrors tv series, THE SILENT SCREAM (1980). Peter Cushing makes his last appearance in a Hammer film production.

NEXT IN THE ROW is that lovely money shot, from 'BIGGLES: ADVENTURES IN SPACE AND TIME' ....  where we find out,  just who is that suspicious shadowy figure! Tina Goodwin, this  is your GIF!

AND FINALLY a performance that does get much in the way of column inches, because it's been so long since anyone has actually seen the film! 'THE LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF' has gained more interest through being a film that STILL has no legitimate release on dvd or blu ray, than for being a very god film! Peter Cushing's performance has some very nice black comedy moments, and you get the impression, this is a film, that Cushing actually enjoyed making! C. Hughes, you made a great choice for your GIF request.. that look says it all really!

#THROWBACKTHURSDAY : UNCLE HARRY AND THE MAN FROM THE LITTLE PET SHOP OF HORRORS

#‎throwbackthursday‬: For the next few weeks, we are making our ‪#‎throwback‬ themed.. we'll be digging through the collection to bring you some rare and not so well known television appearances from the 1950's, 60's and 70's. Peter was very fortunate to have had an extremely successful television career, long before his success on the big screen. To kick us off with our FIRST , Peter Cushing Telly #throwbackthursday post . . .

. . . . a photograph from the BBC play 'UNCLE HARRY' which was broadcast on 8th May 1958 and starred Peter Cushing, Beryl Measor, Gerald James and the actress in the pic, Mary Morris. The play was based in Wales and BBC Wales produced this television adaptation of Thomas Job's stage play. The story revolved around Harry Quincey (Uncle Harry played by Cushing) who lives with his two rather quarrelsome sisters, who look after him, but feels stifled. He thinks up a desperate plan to free himself.

TRIVIA: After it's run on Broadway in 1942, it was adapted shortly after into a film starring George Saunders entitled, The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry.... it's script and story bore little resemblance to the  theatre production or tv play!

#throwbackthursday: MORE Throw Back Cushing Telly: Peter Cushing as Martin Blueck, the owner of a suspicious pet shop in 'The Silent Scream' an episode of the short lived TV series 'Hammer House Of Horror' (1980) co-starring Brian Cox and directed by Alan Gibson who had worked with Peter and for Hammer directing Dracula AD 1972 and The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (1974) This was the final time that Peter worked for Hammer films.
