LIMITED EDITION DRACULA AD 1972 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK ON VINYL

Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to exhume another classic from the Hammer horror stable in the shape of Dracula A.D. 1972. Bringing the legend of Bram Stoker's immortal creation into then-present day, the film pits the charismatic Count up against the disco decade after being resurrected by a group of hippies performing black magic, with Cristopher Lee and Peter Cushing reprising their signature roles. Composing this madness was Mike Vickers, former member of 60's pop quiet Manfred Mann, who provided a suitably contemporary score that followed in the footsteps of jazz scores from that era.

Pressed on 180g psychedelic splatter vinyl housed inside a 425gsm gatefold sleeve designed by Silver Ferox. One off pressing of JUST 1000 units.

Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee: The Last Meeting Clip 2

The second in a series of clips of the last time Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee met, posted here and shared in features and articles on our various internet platforms. The occasion was the recording of a voice over at a small recording studio in Canterbury, Kent, UK for a documentary about Hammer films, called Flesh and Blood, that was later screened in two parts on the BBC. Part two was broadcast just two days after Peter Cushing's death on Thursday August 11, 1994. We post the clips under the title of 'ONE LAST TIME' ...in part a nod to the cameos that both Cushing and Lee played in a film entitled 'One More Time' as a favour to Hammer fan and friend, Sammy Davis jr.

The unedited footage runs at approx one hour. Over the next two years, we will edit clips and share them. We are sensitive to anything within the footage that compromises confidentiality. The footage was shot with both Cushing and Lee's consent. Enjoy this last and rare moment, feel free to leave a comment or click a like, if you feel happy to and please come see us at any of our links below. You will be most welcome!

50% DISCOUNT ON ORDERS OF ISLAND OF TERROR BLU RAY AND DVD FROM SCREENBOUND

THIS YEAR 2016, marks the 50th anniversary of the making of ISLAND OF TERROR  starring Peter Cushing, Edward Judd, Eddie Byrne Niall MacGinnis and Sam Kidd. A great cast, but the true stars are the things that crawl, slurp and suck their merry way through the very entertaining 89 minutes. They are called SILICATES and are it must be said, they are one of the more original looking 'monsters' to ever come 'down the pike' in a 1960's UK Sci-Fi movie. Looking like a cross between a lump of porridge with a vacuum cleaner attachment, it's amusing at first, until you see WHAT these slip-sliding blobs can do!

The GIFS in this feature are not taken from the REMASTERED FOOTAGE SCREENBOUND dvd or
 blu ray release.

ISLAND OF TERROR has quite a few releases over the years, but it has taken SCREENBOUND the people behind the excellent remastered releases of the Cushing classiscs, AMICUS FILMS DR TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS (1965) in it's beautiful steel book presentation, NIGHT OF THE BIG HEAT (1967) with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing final theatrically released film,  BIGGLES: ADVENTURES IN TIME (1986) ..remastered and restored in stunning HD by Deluxe Post Production and available in its original screen ratio of 1.85:1 for the first time!

#MONSTERMONDAY A MONSTER FROM HELL GIFS AND COLOUR PICS

And so, we start the week with our usual throwing a spotlight on a 'monster, creation, thing!' featured in a film of your choosing. This week's unthinkable, comes with it's reputation stamped firmly on the title of the film, in which it appeared... A Monster from Hell, the poster screamed. The monster, being the latest creation of Peter Cushing's Baron Frankenstein in his last outing as the Baron for Hammer films in 1974. As always, this feature is a request feature and also appears on our interactive thread on our PCAS FACEBOOK FAN PAGE.. and Tim Johnson, has requested 'The Monster'...with the suggestion that we open this one also for a fair debate!

Tim feels Dave Prowse's role as the unfortunate creature, has been under valued, not given fair credit...so, that sounded good to me. So, I will post some cool pics of Dave as the 'Monster' in this thread, also share this post, as always on the website...and maybe you would like to share YOUR opinion... on this week's MONSTER? 'FEAR FILLED or FLOP?' A Trip to HELL? or A WALK in the Park? Did Dave Prose's MONSTER DO IT for you?

Many ask, 'Why the rubber mask and suit? Had Hammer not leaned from their mistakes with Kiwi Kingston in 'The Evil of Frankenstein'? Make up man, Eddie Knight, was faced with a dilemma. Knight also had make up duties on the previous Hammer / Cushing Frankenstein film, before this one, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed. A problem with full body monsters in limited budget films, is time. Make up artist, Roy Ashton kin his interviews with PCAS always pressed the point, that many make ups could have been so much better had they given him more time. Time to research, prepare and on the actual studio floor during shooting. When it came to shooting Monster From Hell, it was decided to opt for the mask and suit...just like in Evil of Frankenstein...that would take as little time as possible to put on, apply and maintain during the days shooting. It may not have been the best make up, but it was the best solution...

BEHIND THE SCENES AT BRAY STUDIOS IN 1966 : HAMMER FILMS

Behind The Scenes: Archive footage from Hammer films production of Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) - The SECOND of the series featuring Christopher Lee and with a prologue sequence revisiting the closing moments of the first Hammer / Dracula from 1958, starring Peter Cushing as Van Helsing.

WODERICK WODERICK WODERICK . . THE HOUSE OF THE LONG SHADOWS

A Classic sequence from The House Of The Long Shadows (1983) with Christopher Lee , Vincent Price and Peter all round the table together… With the family Grisbane, all collectively holding their breath, as Peter Cushing's drunken Sebastian Grisbane splutters out...."Woderick Woderick, Woderick' …

TRIVIA : Not many know that collectively... Peter Cushing ,along with Vincent Price, Christopher Lee & John Carradine won the Caixa de Catalunya Award for Best Actor for their work in House of the Long Shadows...

CANDID PHIBES : PRICE CUSHING KEMP AND HOWERD

THREE photographs gracing our PETER CUSHING FACEBOOK FAN PAGE today. The first, taken during a break in shooting 'The Abominable Dr Phibes' at Elstree studios in December 1970, Vincent Price meets UK comedian Frankie Howerd who was making 'Up Pompeii' next-door! A missed opportunity with Howerd to be cast in the Terry-Thomas role, but it was one of those things that didn't work out.

And then, a pre shooting publicity press photograph of both Vincent Price and Australian actress Valli Kemp...with a publicity shot of Peter Cushing as the Ship's Captain, from the 1972 'Dr Phibes Rises Again' , shot at Elstree, UK. Peter's role was sadly no more than a cameo... quite a shift from what COULD have been, when the casting was taking place for the AIP first outing, 'The Abominable Dr Phibes' also starring Vincent Price....
