RAW FOOTAGE TV INTERVIEW AND SURPRISE PARTY!

#WATCHWITHCUSHING! There are some clips of #PeterCushing, which I really enjoy and make me smile. Here are two of them. The first is a raw UK TV studio interview. Here PC is very much 'Johnny On The Spot' Charming and relaxed. Quite the gent, wit style and having fun. The second, is a clip of more raw footage, that some of you may have seen here before. It's Peter Cushing's Surprise 80th Birthday Party! Here of course he is older, but still able to have a lot of fun and is quite genuinely surprised and happy to see everyone. This always make me smile. I hope you smile and enjoy this too! Stay safe everyone and look after yourselves 😊 You'll find the clip at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE HERE!!

SO WHAT WAS IT LIKE TO BE SIR CHRISTOPHER LEE?

WHAT WAS IT LIKE to be Christopher Lee? Well, if you watch this short, raw, unedited footage from a candid chat with Lee back in 2001, you get an idea! Being in the spotlight certainly exposes you to everyone and it seems, everyone wanted something! The press, weird attention, fans, critics and . . . babies? Poor Christopher got it all. Lots to hear and see here. Certainly worth your attention, if you ever wondered why Sir Christopher could be a little blunt or guarded . . now you KNOW why . .

THE ABOVE IS FOR TERI SPEIRS in Grand Junction, CO US, here is a request she made yesterday at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE on Christopher Lee's Birthday, but we just didn't have time to fit in! Teri wanted anything that was from the 'staking scene' in Hammer films, Dracula Has Risen from The Grave' ... but if possible an 'on-set' shot, but not a dvd frame or press photograph 😩😫😂Ok, well I think this fits the bill! It's from a contact sheet, so never published, a little grainy, but look at THAT face! 😮 Hope this does the job, Teri - Marcusl

NEW CLIP: HOW ARE THINGS IN GUATEMALA? THE LAST MEETING OF PETER CUSHING AND CHRISTOPHER LEE

AS PROMISED as part of today's Peter Cushing Birthday Celebrations.. here is a brand new, freshly edited addition to the series, 'Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee : The Last Meeting' I hope you enjoy it 🙂 This candid footage was shot on a camcorder, without prep, tripod or lighting. The day was May 17th 1994 and the location at a small studio in Canterbury, a short distance from Peter's home in Whitstable. At just under ten minutes long, it's our longest clip and is probably the most interesting. There is of course lots of Peter enjoying himself, laughing, weeping with giggles and Christopher Lee once again crushing any theories of what many though was, a man with no sense of humor! Here we see Lee present Cushing with a birthday card, Peter admits he has one for Lee too, and will save the cost of a postage stamp!

BOTH CUSHING, LEE AND VINCENT PRICES'S birthdays were just over a week away. It would be Cushing last, a point that is poignantly given pause when with black humor Cushing asks Lee a question that, for once Lee bound with emotion, found very hard to give a reply, and defuses it with humor. Cushing almost blows the gaff on a some private work, Lee was undertaking on a film featuring Rasputin, their love of Warner Bros cartoons and their shared appreciation of actor, singer and comedian 'Snoozzle' Duarnte is displayed again, to great enjoyment and Cushing howls. Cushing introduces again, his assistant and close friend Joyce Broughton, to Lee, and asks for a 'Scotty' nose tissue! Cushing also floors Lee with a question about Guatemala! There is much to see and enjoy, and for first time too, we get to see the man who brought Peter and Christopher together for this day, Ted Newsom.

YOU'LL FIND THE WHOLE TWELVE CLIP PLAY LIST at the PCASUK YOUTUBE Channel RIGHT HERE!

IT WAS TED NEWSOM'S IDEA to bring Lee and Cushing together for one last time to record the narration for his great tv documentary, 'Flesh and Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror'. We have him to thank really for making this meeting possible. There is also a interesting piece on Lee being interviewed about his thoughts on remaking the Hammer film, 'The Devil Rides Out' There's lots to see and I hope you enjoy this clip . . feel free to leave your comments on this in the thread below, feel free to share with others and have fun, THEY most certainly did 😉😊 - Marcus (pcasuk)

MARKING THE ANNIVERSARY OF 'PETER CUSHING AND CHRISTOPHER LEE'S' FINAL MEETING: ONE LAST TIME

AS POPULAR AS EVER, a clip from the PCASUK 'Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee: One Last time' clipped was shared on the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE today . . .

ABOVE: MY TWO favorite clips from the series. The first a wonderful story from Christopher Lee about VINCENT PRICE and, here second both Cushing's and Lee's 'black sense of humour' shines through, with a message to Cushing, from Lee's wife, Gitta 😉

From the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE: 'THIS WEEK marks the last time Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee spent time with each other... as I am sure many of you know, that last engagement together was work, and the recording of the narration of Ted Newsom's Hammer films documentary, 'Flesh and Blood'. The date was the 17th May 1994, and both Peter and Christopher Lee sat to have some photographs taken for publicity, before recording. What started as a few questions, soon turned into an hour of candid and relaxed conversation and memories. Thankfully, unplanned the whole session was video'd, with a domestic video camera. We have shared much of that recording here, at the pcasuk website and our youtube channel . . .

THAT PETER would no longer be with us, in just a few weeks time wasn't expected. But, as far as Peter was concerned, he couldn't wait to be reunited with his late wife, Helen. Here's one of my favourite clips. As for more, you'll find them at our youtube channel... and new clips, stay tuned for May 26th this year 😀 . . . and we all know, what day that is? 😉

FELLOWSHIP, FRIENDS AND ONE FOR ONE LAST TIME!

Three taken during the last ten years of Lee's life, he was still working, being very social and having a ball! It was great to see his face so often in newspapers and magazines, enjoying the fuss and the deserved praise he had worked so long and hard for...

HERE IS THE WHOLE ONE LAST TIME PLAYLIST  at the PCASUK YOUTUBE CHANNEL, which contains every clip of our EXCLUSIVE video library of the last time, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee met together. Candid, funny and emotional. MORE clips to come soon! ALL HERE! BELOW A SAMPLE CLIP from the whole series.😀

WHEN SARUMAN AND DOOKU PLAYED GOLF : ONE CLUB TO RULE THEM ALL!

ALONG WITH HIS FAMILY and work, CHRISTOPHER LEE ... had two other great passions in his life. Opera and golf! When he sang, he did it with much aplomb and emotion. His golf wasn't too bad either. Rather than making 'holes' as the Count, here he had much more fun, taking many a skilful swipe on the course , and showing good sportsmanship, even when his shot landed in the 'cabbage' . . . golfing term, I believe for rough grass 😉 Here is a mid 1960's pose with his clubs case, complete with, one of those weird little hat things, they slip onto the club end. Anyone know what these are called??? When they met for the last time, Lee gave Peter a gift of one, that was a Sylvester the Cat design... a reference to their love of one of their most favourite Warner Bros cartoon characters. Yosemite Sam and Foghorn Leghorn made them howl too!

CHRISTOPHER LEE SATURDAY! : THE LAST MEETING : THE COMPLETE SERIES : MORE TO COME :

#CHRISTOPHERLEE SATURDAY! This week we are loading up our entire PCAS PLAYLIST from our YOUTUBE CHANNEL of one of our most popular series at the site. Our clips of Peter Cushing as TARKIN from #STARWARS and #ROGUEONE are popular, the #AMICUSFILMS documentaries are too. #MARKLHAMILL talking about meeting with Cushing while making Star Wars, Hamill STILL is a BIG #HAMMERFILMS fan, always gets views as does Cushing's Masks of Death Sherlock movie and what was one of least popular films when it was released, The Ghoul. . . .

BUT ONE SERIES of clips that always gets viewings and has been a hit since they were first posted a few years ago is ONE LAST TIME. Both Cushing and Christopher Lee were quite private individuals, private in their friendship too. Finding candid photographs of them on set at one time, was quite rare, and there was thought to be nothing in the way of any footage of them chatting together, until 1994.

THE JOB OF THEM providing the narration for the documentary, 'Flesh And Blood: The Hammer Heritage Of Horror', took place in a small studio in Canterbury. Neither Cushing or Lee had met together for a year or two, although they had kept up their communication over the phone. Lee knew his friend was seriously ill and was very keen to take the opportunity to spend some time together. His reaction to not knowing how ill Cushing was, has been well documented, so we won't dwell on that here. Neither will we disclose again, how this footage was captured and how we obtained a copy of it, but today we have taken the opportunity, for those who maybe haven't viewed the clips, to sample a few from our PCAS YOUTUBE CHANNEL playlist!

MANY WHO HAVE WATCHED this collection of clips have mentioned how surprised they were, at seeing both Lee and Cushing so relaxed, how entertaining and sometimes quite emotional it is to see, just how close both Cushing and Lee were. You get to the opportunity to see, a side to both gentlemen you didn't know existed. HAVE FUN watching these clips. IF you have any comments or suggestions about this or any posts at the blog, just use the COMMENT BUTTON at the bottom of this post, and if you wish we can also add your comment to the feature!

THE ONE AND ONLY : #CUSHINGSFEMMEFATALESFRIDAY!

BEST KNOWN  as Hammer Films' most seductive female vampire of the early 1970s, the Polish-born Pitt possessed dark, alluring features and a sexy figure that made her just right for Gothic horror! Ingrid Pitt (born Ingoushka Petrov) survived World War II and became a well-known actress on the East Berlin stage, however, she did not appear on screen until well into her twenties. She appeared in several minor roles in Spanish films in the mid 1960s, mostly uncredited, before landing the supporting role of undercover agent "Heidi", assisting Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton defeat the Third Reich in Where Eagles Dare (1968).

HER EXOTIC looks and eastern European accent came to the notice of Hammer executives who cast Pitt as vampiress "Mircalla" in the sensual horror thriller The Vampire Lovers (1970). The film was a box office success with its blend of horror and sexual overtones, and Pitt was a beautiful, yet ferocious bloodsucker. Next up, Pitt was cast by Amicus Productions as another gorgeous vampire in the episode entitled "The Cloak" in the superb The House That Dripped Blood (1971). This time, Ingrid played an actress appearing in horror films alongside screen vampire Jon Pertwee, but then later reveals herself to be a real vampire keen on recruiting fresh blood.

INGRID DONNED the fangs for her third vampire film in a row, Countess Dracula (1971) which was loosely based around the legend of the 16th century bloodthirsty Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Whilst not as successful, as the two prior outings, Ingrid Pitt had firmly established herself as one of the key ladies of British horror of the 1970s. She then appeared in the underrated The Wicker Man (1973) as an uncooperative civil servant annoying Edward Woodward in his search for a missing child. Further work followed in The Final Option (1982), as "Elvira" in the adaptation of the John le Carré Cold War thriller Smiley's People (1982), Wild Geese II (1985) and The Asylum (2000).

INGRID made regular appearances at horror conventions and fan gatherings, had penned several books on her horror career, and she relished talking to fans about her on screen vampiric exploits. Ingrid's fan club is known as the "Pitt of Horror"! A much loved and genuine cult figure of modern horror cinema, she died on November 23, 2010, just two days after her 73rd birthday.
