#ONTHESETSATURDAY : TODAY Saturday 17th May marks the 20th anniversary
of the last time Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee met and worked
together. The occasion was recording the voice over commentary for Ted
Newsom's #Hammerfilms 'Flesh and Blood' documentary
in a tiny studio in Canterbury, Kent. TODAY we are going to mark the
anniversary in style! FIRST here is another new clip from behind the
scenes footage of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee having a ball,
chatting and laughing about times past, while meeting the press. LATER
we'll be posting up a great COMPETITION where you can win some exclusive
RARE stills from that special day. THEN, we have a superb feature by
Troy Howarth who shares his thoughts on that day 20 years ago...complete
with a gallery of EXCLUSIVE stills. Join us through the day, and share
in the fun that both Peter and Christopher Lee had that day! Hope you like the clip!

HORROR RITUAL: HAMMER FILMS 'DRACULA AD AND SATANIC RITES'
#TBT
THROWBACKTHRUSDAY :Hammer Horror Ritual: Publicity bills. I have always
thought that the 'Count Dracula Society' 'Horror Ritual' tie in was
something that cinema's in the US did for just the publicity campaign of
Peter Cushing's 'Dracula AD 1972' (1972) ...apparently not so, as this
newspaper bill for 'The Satanic Rites of Dracula' (1973) illustrates...
Follower Ben Smothers reminds us of the pity little tag in the 'Horror Ritial Oath'....'The Oath! I loved the last line too! "So help me, Christopher Lee! "

#ONTHESETSATURDAY: TAKING A BREAK IN VAN HELSING'S STUDY : THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA
#ONSETSETSATURDAY :Large colour rare transparency: Peter Cushing and Joanna Lumley and crew on the set during takes of #hammerfilms 'The Satanic Rites of Dracula' (1974) The last time Christopher Lee would appear as Hammer films Count.
Max Rosenberg, one half of Amicus films who throughout the 1960's and most of the 70's, would be the company's main competition would ironically gain U.S theatrical licensing control of this film, under his company Dynamite. When the company ceased trading, the film slipped out of copyright and can now be found on many 'unlicensed and underground' releases and dvd compilations under the chronic title, 'Count Dracula and his Vampire Bride'. Be warned: Most of these releases are duped from a single VHS recording, and transferred onto dvd.

#ONSETSATURDAY: CHRISTOPHER LEE GETS THE CREATURE COMFORT AT #HAMMERFILMS BRAY STUDIOS
PCASUK: #ONSETSATURDAY
Large scanned photograph: Christopher Lee in the make up chair being
attended by make up artist Phil Leakey during the making of #hammerfilms
'The Curse of Frankenstein' (1957 Dir Terence Fisher) The whole make up job would take up to an uncomfortable three hours. Lee would listen to the cricket scores and sometime sing opera or occasionally, something from a G and S Musical with Peter Cushing in the dressing room next-door joining in! The Curse of Frankenstein Starred Peter
Cushing as Baron Frankenstein, Robert Urquhart as Paul Krempe, Hazel
Court as Elizabeth and Valerie Gaunt as Justine.
