NEED A PICK ME UP? THIS MIGHT JUST DO THE TRICK!

I NEEDED A PICK-ME-UP this morning 😐 ...and this really did the trick! Maybe you do too? You are right, it's NOT Peter Cushing's Birthday today . . Here is something we posted on #PeterCushing's anniversary of his birthday here last year. I am posting it again today here and at the Facebook PCASUK Fan Page, to maybe help maybe take you to another place for half an hour? It's part of a series of #PCASUK edited clips of Peter Cushing and #ChristopherLee, candidly chatting that was amazingly not planned and caught on amateur video during the preparation of the last time Peter and Christopher worked together on the narration of Ted Newsome's #Hammerfim documentary 'Flesh and Blood' released in 1994. There are some gems here, when posted last year, seen for the first time. Both Cushing and Lee were big fans of entertainer and actor Jimmy 'Snozzle' Durante, loved #WarnerBrothers cartoon esp Yosemite Sam, Sylvester the Cat etc.. you'll see Peter prompt Lee to 'do' his impressions of them. As you all know, both Peter and Christopher Lee were very close and long time friends. They had a short hand of communication and knew instinctively what made each other laugh and stories they loved to tell each other. Peter was just a short time away from leaving us here, was quite weak, but wouldn't have missed this meeting for the world... you shouldn't either. Enjoy Safe Safe, stay well, INDOORS and look after each other 😉- Marcus

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY AND PADDY PUSHES THE WHEELCHAIR!

A HAPPY #STPATRICKSDAY! I was looking for any connections with Peter and Ireland... couldn't find anything really. A few tours in theatre productions and the filming of #Hammerfilms, 'Sword of Sherwood Forest' Robin Hood film in some beautiful surroundings.. And then I realised I had missed the obvious . . Paddy Smith! 😃

PADDY WAS A CLOSE friend to Peter for many years, was his driver, stand-in, and extra in quite a few films, Hammer's 'The Curse of Frankenstein' and 'Frankenstein Created Woman' , 'Captain Clegg' . . he drove the coach to Château Meinster in 'Brides of Dracula' and did some work on Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing's 'Nothing But The Night' .. sometimes known under it's 'total give away title' 'The Resurrection Syndicate' in 1973. Here is Paddy in costume, clowning around with PC during the shoot. Paddy appeared in quite a lot of TV work too, usually 'walk on-walk off' roles. BUT he always stands out! 😃 If you are celebrating today, have a grand and safe 😐 Happy St Patrick's Day 😊

A RARE AND CANDID photograph of Peter Cushing on a home visit to see his friends, Nic Gadd and his wife in Whitstable in around 1991😊 .. this was a rare thing, as in his later years PC loved nothing better than staying home, reading. During the 1950's up until his wife Helen died in 1971, he 'upstairs studio' was his den of many, many hobbies and activities . . painting, model making, stamps, postcards . . a man happy to #stayathome

CHRISTOPHER LEE SATURDAY! MORE TEA?

WE'VE DISCUSSED Peter Cushing's love of tea, many times here. He loved a cup of Earl Grey in the morning. He took his tea with just splash of milk, and three sugars . . . but no cubes or lumps. One of the reasons why he loved the Tudor Tea Rooms in Whitstable town, was the fact they had loose sugar, in bowls on the tables. He would not dream of using sugar cubes!

HE HATED BUTTER presented in those little plastic pods or individual little slabs wrapped in foil. But, tea he loved . . .and would drink many many cups in a day, and would quickly drain the tea pot. Talking of draining... who is that getting to the bottom of that tea cup???

IF LOOKING AT CUSHING, Lee and Hammer films stars drinking tea is your thing, there's WHOLE illustrated PCAS feature on that very thing, here at our PCAS website, just CLICK HERE!
