#MONSTERMONDAY: THE BLOODY COUNT IN THE CHATEAU WITH GIFS!
#MONSTERMONDAY: Requested By Tel Morrison, UK. David Peel as Baron Meinster... he comes in for a lot of stick, but I think he did very well. Peel really is acting his 'socks-off' here! A very gentle man, older that his casting, was met by his appearance on screen, with cries of 'But...he's NOT Dracula' and 'It Says DRACULA on the poster outside!!' Soul destroying, I would think. He wore lifts because his height was deemed not tall enough for the role (Tell me about it!) and a page boy blonde wig.... to give that look of innocence. All the more frightening, when he changes into the raging vampire beast, that the BARON really was.... I think he did a great job....

DON'T LOOSE YOUR HEAD! MONSTERMONDAY : PITT AND THE VAMPIRE!
In todays #MonsterMonday we feature Carmilla from Hammer's The Vampire
Lovers (1970) played by the lovely Ingrid Pitt in what many considered
to be her finest role… A fine cast supports her in the film, Peter
Cushing, George Cole, Maddie Smith and Douglas Wilmer who we sadly lost
last month. Ingrid's performance made Carmilla one of Hammer's most
successful female vampires, How do you rate her performance?
Ingrid and the gals get together for a publicity shot on

PARK LIFE: WHILE WALKING IN THE PARK ONE DAY . . .
Candid Cushing: PARK LIFE: I think if you were taking a leisurely walk
in your local park, and you happened to see this figure strolling along,
even from a distance...you could see this no ordinary gentleman. Hat at
a cheeky angle, umbrella swinging in time with his gait, there is no
one else this COULD be. Peter Cushing takes a stroll in the park, circa
1986.
A colour shot, taken the same day, minus the hat! These photographs were part of a photo-session for the Mail on Sunday newspaper. The shot above, I believe was also used for one of the many reprints of Peter's autobiography in paper back in the USA.

MARKING THE DAY TWENTY YEARS ON AFTER HIS DEATH: REMEMBERING PETER CUSHING
Veronica Carlson Remembers Peter Cushing:
'My high regard for Peter, allows me to say how happy the days were,
that I was privileged to work along-side him. I can only reiterate my
deep respect for this wonderful man, who was a perfect gentleman
in every sense of the word. I was doubly fortunate to be able to work
with him twice - once. before Helen his beloved wife, died, and after
her passing. I saw the happy Peter, and the bereft Peter - I laughed
with him, and I wept for him. I remember those days with joy, - and with
sadness. I regret not a moment of them. I recall them often, especially
certain beautiful moments, and I smile. He gave me so much to remember
and to be glad I knew him . . .'
