#MONSTERMONDAY! ANOTHER VINTAGE CUSHING AUTOGRAPH COMPETITION!

CUSHING'S MAJOR HOLLY inspects an ancient seal on a ring. Note how Cushing uses his left hand. For most of his adult life, the thumb of his left hand was missing a third of its nail! It wasn't unsightly, but PC did have a 'thing' about his hands and fingers when working. White gloves when smoking? See how often on screen, PC actually keeps this thumb away from the 'see-all' camera. It's thought that he started using his white smoking glove, just after making Hammer films, Dracula / Horror of Dracula in 1958. Next time you watch the film, take a look at the fingers on PC's left hand... clearly stained from tar while smoking . . .!

HERE IS ANOTHER photograph, this time in colour from the same photo session as the pic in our competition. It's interesting that Peter Cushing more often than  not, grew his own facial hair when playing a role that required that he wear a mustache or beard. This wasn't out of choice, but because he had a skin sensitivity to the glue or gum that was used by make up artists, to secure the hair!

From all of his stand out performances, this has always stuck out as very special to me. Please let me know what I have to do to be in with a chance of owning this piece of absolute magic.'

SC: 'If there was one film photograph, I could have Peter Cushing's signature on, it would be The Ghoul. I love that film, and Peter Cushing is so good in it. Sunday, I will be there! Thank you.'

#TOOCOOLTUESDAY: HERE IS A GREAT #VINTAGE STILL of #PeterCushing and #ChristopherLee... You can see quite clearly the difference in height between them. No wonder Lee was SO powerful as #Dracula. I also like the #coyness in Lee's face here...we often forget the difference in their ages and experience. Lee was the #BABY in the line up of many of their films together...that soon changed with experience and age though. Still, you can imagine the power of his performance as #DRACULA... I mean, would you pick a #fight with a guy with sharp #teeth and who soooo tall?

#FRANKENSTEINFRIDAY: THE LAST FREE PETER CUSHING rare and exclusive contact sheet, I gave away last week was very popular, and I am so glad you liked it! SO, here is another gift, ONE MORE! It's been scanned full size, cleaned and is ready for you to copy and keep. If you have simple editing software or photoshop or paint, you can edit out each pic into a series or frame one or all. This is a rare item and shows Peter Cushing, Veronica Carlson and Simon Ward at Elstree studios, filming 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed'. Many of the contact sheets from this film go for top dollar, collectors do not give these away...ha, but I do! There will be more to come in the future. #THROWBACKTHURSDAY: BACK IN the early 1990's Christopher Lee underwent some surgery for a faulty heart value, expensive work and not without it's risks..BUT not as risky as the last time Christopher Lee underwent Cushing's scalpel!!!!
