#MONSTERMONDAY: Mr D.D. Denham. Was there ever a more frightening business man? Hmmm, maybe 😉 A vampire Count, taking down mankind with a deadly plague. I happen to really like 'The Satanic Rites of Dracula', for me it makes the evolution of the Hammer character all the more interesting...and the fact that the family Van Helsing are still on his tail and cramping his plans and style, makes me smile.

#HAMMERFILMSATURDAY: In a few weeks time, it will be almost 50 years since Hammer films were awarded the Queens Award to industry Award, a highly sort after and respected acknowledgement of a company's efforts towards the country's economical well being.

THE EFFORTS and contributions of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were certainly a contribution to all that lolly in the UK's coffers. Here is a lovely GIF taken from news footage shot at the award ceremony, which Peter, Christopher lee, Veronica Carlson and many others from Hammer films attended...It was certainly a day to celebrate. 

THE AWARD is now in a private collection. Look out for our own celebration to mark that day 49 years ago, in a few weeks time!

Like this wonderful montage using John Cacavas (Airport 1975, Kojak, Horror Express) music and a skillful edited from CNN Ironhandz . .. It's Glitter meets the Gothic in Hammer films 1973, The Satanic Rites of Dracula starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. together as the Count and the Hunter, for one last time. The older I get, the more I really DO love this films and Dracula AD 1972. too There's a VERY DARK LATTE at the Cavern Coffee Bar, that this will be released on BLU RAY before the end of the year! (2017)
