#HOWSYOURHEADHON? SORRY AM I BORING YOU??

#Howsyourhead? #PeterCushing and George Pravda in a scene from #Hammerfilms 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed' (1969) ..'clang of name DROP -a-comin' ☹️😴😞😀.. I once had a chance meeting with George back in 1979, we talked about this and his artificial prop head made for this delightful act of trephining 😮👀 He told me how they made his rubber head, that they had to make a whole head plaster cast of his head and 'I spent the whole morning with straws up my NOSE!' ... charming! Peter of course consulted a specialist, just to make sure he had the right drill bit and .. stomach for it! Hmmm, thrilling-drilling! 🤮 - Take care everyone, Marcus

YOU CAN SEE GEORGE PRAVDA, in some neat 'fly-on-the-wall' footage, along with #PeterCushing, #VeronicaCarlson, #SimonWard, #FreddieJones along with director #TerenceFisher, on set and making #Hammefilms 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed' in our vintage footage, posted as part of the #Lock-Down #WatchWithCushing films and clips at our Facebook PCASUK Fan Page!

INTERESTING FOOTAGE, where extra BLOOD is being applied to George Pravda's head make up. Although, his character on screen was never seen with this EXTRA gore in the UK theatrical prints. One must again, add this one to the 'footage for the Continental Print!'  . . .

#HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREDDIE JONES

Please join us in wishing #Happybirthday to the one and only Freddie Jones, who is the grand age of 89 TODAY! Freddie is an actor who is always a joy to watch.

Freddie Jones on set during the making of The Satanic
Rites of Dracula

Always surprising and entertaining. His voice and delivery are unique, as is, his style and the line he follows in all his performances. Never the obvious, always the unpredictable path. There are have been many highs in the Freddie Jones career, but for us here today, we focus on his roles where working with Peter Cushing, brought us EXTRA value and entertainment.

As the wrecked and manipulated, Professor Julian Keeley in Hammer films, 'The Satanic Rites of Dracula' in 1973, to the pathetic and trapped Professor Richter in 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed' in 1969.

Freddie Jones still works, as busy as ever...some would say wasted in a disposable soap opera... but disposable or not, Freddie has played the role of Sandy Thomas since 2005, and in all 552 episodes of ITV's 'Emmerdale', with the same level of authenticity and investment, as any role he has played since he began his long career back in 1960. Fifty six years, and still you can't take your eyes off him! Happy Birthday Freddie From Us All!

TRADING CARDS HAMMER COMICS AND FIERY GIF!

#‎frankensteinfriday‬ Over at our Facebook Fan Page we are asking ...DID you or DO you collect Hammer Trading Cards? There have been many sets of Hammer films trading cards issued over the years, some very good, others not so. I have never understood the 'sketch cards' series? I'd love to know which card did you have most annoying doubles of?

#NEWS : TITAN PUBLISHING has announced a release date for their first issue of a joint venture with Hammer films... ' a brand-new mini-series that reanimates the characters, as imagined by legendary Horror studio, Hammer films...' Halloween 2016 will see the first of their stories, 'The Mummy', ' written by the legendary Peter Milligan, drawn by Ronilson Freire, with cover art by John McCrea. Their press release says, ' ...the line will see the publication of brand-new comic stories, featuring classic Hammer properties, as well as wholly original Hammer stories, produced by Titan.' Hmmm those of us expecting something along the lines of a 'House of Hammer' comic strip story and artwork revival..maybe a little disappointed . . .

#frankensteinfriday : The final scenes of #frankensteinmustbedestroyed is probably the most dramatic of all the Hammer Cushing Frankenstein films... out is a blaze. Milton Subostsky once said, that to end a film with an explosion or fire was a bit of a cop-out, the mark of what writers do when they can think of nothing else, or when the budget calls for a quick end... maybe, but in this case the drama and fire are so well executed, it creates a tension you can't help but get caught up in...and that surely is the mark of a great film???

ON SET TWO GREAT GIFS AND A SNEAK LOOK IN AT 1960'S SHEPPERTON STUDIOS

HERE'S A GREAT OFF CAMERA MOMENT with Peter Cushing and George Pravda duriong the making of HAMMER FILMS 'FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED' a quick break, a puff and off they go top create more monsters and mayhem!

A VERY INTERESTING PIECE OF FOOTAGE behind the scenes also during the making of Hammer Films 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed' at Elstree studios. The actor being 'Bloodied Up' is George Pravda, who played the role of Dr Brandt in the film. What makes this clip of interest is the application of the blood...being applied by make up artists, Eddie Knight. It appears tp be MUCH MORE blood that actually appears in the finished film, which makes one wonder if this is another scene, being 'bloodied up' for the Asian market release of the film. CEO of Hammer films, James Carreras said on camera and many times in interviews how some scenes were shot two or three times, each having more blood or violence, that would never pass the UK censors, but were shot especially for overseas markets. Which makes one wonder, after the successful hunting down of those vital Hammer 'Dracula's Death' shots from the 1958 film...is there more out there from this Frankenstein Cushing treat??

HERE'S A PRETTY BUSY AND COLOURFUL FILM SET at Shepperton studios, all up and ready before the camera rolls..but in WHICH Peter Cushing film, does this film set appear? Answer later!
