REMEMBERING JON PERTWEE : A RARE COLOUR TRANSPARANCEY PLUS STUNNING RESIN CRYPT MODEL KIT PICS!

REQUESTED from Phil Randell
ANOTHER dip into the colour images from rare contract sheets of Christopher Lee and Veronica Carlson in 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave', the last for while, this is a request, so here we go.... an interesting shot from the studio's publicity photographer, with the intention of trimming the pic later, to remove those lighting cables on the floor out of the shot. I think, this was between poses too, both seem to be listening to the photographer. . .

TODAY WE REMEMBER Jon Pertwee who we sadly lost on this day in May 1996. Pertwee became best known for spending 18 years (1959–1977) playing Chief petty officer Pertwee in the popular series The Navy Lark on BBC Radio. But achieved world wide recognition from playing the Third Doctor in Dr Who whom he played from 1970 to 1974.

AFTER DOCTOR WHO He had continued success in TV playing the title character in the television series Worzel Gummidge from 1979 to 1981 (reprising the role from 1987 to 1989). Judging by the response, to this post at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE it is wonderful to see, Pertwee's admirers and following is just as strong as ever. He is still very much, appreciated and remembered!

DOES THIS 'THE MUMMY' kit figure grab you? I get sent quite a lot of photographs of figures and model kits, but this one is very good , I think. Resin Crypt's "Deadly Intruder" sculpted by Robert Price and.artist Nick DeAngelo has done an very good job painting and building the piece.

YOU SEE IT PRESENTED here, before the paint and after. The kit consists of 16 pieces and is 1/6th scale, which features include both figures of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing along with a highly detailed elaborate base including, globe, rifle and nameplate . .

THIS IS ALL reproduced from the stunning action scene, that takes part in the Hammer film of 1959, The Mummy, directed by Terence Fisher...and make up by the amazing Roy Ashton! Over at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE, we have asked for YOUR opinion on the figure, and the feed-back has been MOST postive!

ON SET FOR WHEN #DRACULA ROSE AND FELL AT #PINEWOODSTUDIOS : RARE FULL COLOUR PRINTS!

#THROWBACKTHURSDAY: Christopher Lee up in the roof top set of Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, at Pinewood studios. 'Grave' I have often thought was one of the few in the series that would have really been so much better with some Cushing Van Helsing in the plot! No?😊😌😊

THIS FILM WAS number THREE in the Lee Hammer Dracula series is often reported to be Hammer films most successful film? Over at the FACEBOOK PCAS FAN PAGE, I have asked if anyone can provide evidence as to why that would be thought so??? Feel free to give us your theories! 😉

ANOTHER ONE THAT IS rarely posted on facebook groups or Hammer films websites.. a full colour transparency from 'Dracula Has Risen from the Grave'. Lee in respose, the last we see of the Count before he is no more. Always thought it was a leap too far, from flesh to slime and ash in this death scene. Hammer and Les Bowie Special Effects team were always so good at the 'big pay off' visuals of Dracula coming back from the dead and dying sometimes the most gruesome, yet quite inventive death!

#CHRISTOPHERLEESATURDAYS! RISEN: HE IS UP AND ABOUT AND NOT HAPPY!

#CHRISTOPHERLEESATURDAYS! Here's one straight off the contact sheet, requested by Rich Santos! Christopher Lee in 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave' (1968) From a colour contact sheet with many similar poses...this is one from the session, that you don't see that often.

#CHRISTOPHERLEESATURDAYS : HERE ARE three images from a photo session that Veronica Carlson did, with a photographer, whose name escapes me at the mo! It has long be thought that these unusual photographs were taken specifically for publicity on 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave'. However, Veronica Carlson has recently revealed that that photo session was set up, between her and the photographer, it was only when the press office at #HAMMERFILMS saw them, they thought they were terrific and just what was needed to spice up the interest in their latest #CHRISTOPHERLEE ' #DRACULA release . . . so now you know!

#ONSETSATURDAY : RARE CREATURE AND ARM CHAIR CAT BEHIND THE SCENES

#ONSETSATURDAY: A RARE on set shot during the making of  The Curse Of Frankenstein, at Hammer films Bray studios. Christopher Lee as The Monster here, a role that came just before his career took off into the roles that would make him a house hold name. While Valerie Gaunt would appear in Hammer's #DRACULA and literally one or two theatre production in the UK, before quitting. I guess, unlike what the song says, An actors life, was NOT for her!

#ONSETSATURDAY It's a film always gets a mixed reaction here. Whatever you think of the film, I MONSTER certainly has a collection beautiful and interesting on set and behind the scenes photographs. Here is Peter Cushing posing on set for a promo shot. This particular shot is one of a series of shots of Peter with and without a cat. This is the same cat who appears in a scene with Christopher Lee in the movie..and comes to particularly nasty end. Oh btw... no animals were hurt or mistreated during the film of... etc etc..

REQUESTED: VINTAGE AND RARE DALEK AND BIKINI CLAD CURZON PHOTOGRAPH 1966

REQUESTED: Here's a rare colour transparency of Jill Curzon in a publicity shot for the second Cushing Dr Who film, 'Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD'... P Carter from Leeds requested this shot, as he had heard of it's existence, but didn't quite believe it... Dr Who's assistant in a bikini posing with a Dalek??! All in the name of getting bottoms on seats... needless to say, Curzon didn't appear in this outfit in the film...

TRIVIA: Interestingly... the film Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. ..was originally entitled Daleks INVADE Earth 2150 AD, according to this rare and vintage 'coverage story' document ...Hmm maybe Invasion DOES sound better?
