WHEN A FAN RECENTLY asked Mark Hamill on Twitter which actor from Star Wars
he wished Luke could've shared a scene with if there was a chance,
Hamill posted a touching reply. Not only did Hamill start with the late
and great Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin, but he said
basically everyone else from the films, calling out the sequel trilogy
actors in particular. In a funny way it's a quintessential Luke
Skywalker response 😊

RARE PHOTOGRAPHS : BEHIND THE SCENES AND LOBBY STILLS : FRANKENSTEIN FRIDAY!
#FRANKENSTEINFRIDAY OUR FIRST OF FOUR WEEKS Frankenstein Hammer Cushing fun! To kick us off to start, here are four from a set of eight quite rare lobby stills, from #Hammerfilms 'The Evil of Frankenstein'. These are the many photographs you would usually see in the lobby or outside the cinema in the glass cases. These particular original photographs were also hand tinted. They chose balck and white photographs, and tinted each set with liquid dyes. This was CHEAPER than colour photographs. Many of these sets were purchased by the manager of the cinema, were used once and then thrown away, after the film had played for it's duration in the local cinema. Colour transparency, were far too expensive, to be used for exhibition purposes, when used for only seven days! Over the years they can fade and get a little tatty if not looked after. These were in good condition, but have also been freed of dust and slight damage of pin holes. They now, I think you'll agree, look GREAT! We also have the first of a series of rare publicity and press photographs, from 'The Evil of Frankenstein'. . . .

CASH ON DEMAND WRAPPED 57 YEARS AGO TODAY!
FIFTY SEVEN YEARS today Peter Cushing just wrapped with shooting one of his least expected, successes with Hammer films. A neat, tight and dramatic bank robbing saga, that started life as a BBC tv play just twelve months previously called, 'The Gold Inside'. Cushing plays a bank manager called Harry Fordyce, Andre Morell who had played Cushing's Watson just two years before, plays a foxy confidence trickster, called Colonel Gore-Hepburn.
'CASH ON DEMAND' (1961) is quite a marvel really. With an almost penny-halfpenny budget, it holds the suspense and drama, through out it's 90min duration . . . which is real pay-off, when the plot, the nuts and bolts of the crime are revealed. It's a credit to Hammer films, who sometimes did not do as well, with their non horror movies. Cushing and Morell are superb. I know it's a favorite here, and this little GIF just about shows you, the spins and traps that Cushing's up-tight manager is put through. . . Recommended, wouldn't you say?

PETER CUSHING: THE TUESDAY TOUGHY AND COCA COLA TARKIN!
#TOOCOOLTUESDAY! IT'S TUESDAY, and as well as cool, we have TOUGH! The TUESDAY TOUGIE! You'll find this week's question, interesting. The fact in the answer, I don't think is THAT well known. Unless of course..YOU know it! BELOW you'll find the ANSWER for last week. Which, is a pretty cool one. NO ONE provided the correct answer for THAT ONE! Send your answer to our usual
LAST WEEK'S TUESDAY TOUGHIE ANSWER
IS BELOW!
THE ANSWER WE WERE LOOKING FOR, WAS THE NAME REGINALD BECK! If that surname looks familiar to you, here is why! Reginald (Reggie) Beck was a British film editor with forty-nine
credits from 1932 to 1985. He is noted primarily for films he made with
Laurence Olivier in the 1940s and with Joseph Losey in the 1960s and
1970s. He was the brother of Violet Helen Beck Cushing, wife of . . . Peter Cushing. Beck worked closely with Olivier on HAMLET in which Peter played OSRIC. It was Cushing's first major screen role in 1948.
#TOOCOOLTUESDAY! CUSHING'S TARKIN and DARTH VADER, Coca Cola Posters! In 1977, George Lucas recognized the
value of merchandising his new movie, and he approached many companies
about doing special advertising tie-in posters. He made four deals for
the exact same posters with Coca-Cola! There was a set of 4 posters and
one of the four deals was distributed through Burger Kings, and at the
bottom of each, it said "A poster series from The Coca-Cola Company and
Burger King", and each had "Number One of Four", etc. The second deal
was through another burger chain, now defunct, Burger Chef, and at the
bottom of each, it said "A poster series from The Coca-Cola Company and
Burger Chef Systems Inc." The third set was distributed in Japan only,
and at the bottom of each of those, it said "A poster series from The
Coca-Cola Company (Japan)". The fourth set was distributed in the U.S.
by Coca-Cola, it said "An original poster series from The Coca-Cola
Company".
