REMEMBERING : TERRY WOGAN AND PETER CUSHING'S LAST APPEARANCE ON THE WOGAN SHOW FEB 1988

WHAT A DELIGHT, this was.. and were given the treat of #PeterCushing guesting on #TerryWogan's chat show four times from 1986... it was pretty obvious that Wogan had a soft spot for Peter and as Peter got a little more wobbly over those few years, Wogan gave Peter time, space and support should Cushing start giggling at 'losing my train of though' while sharing his stories and chat. Sadly both #BBC TV and radio have changed a great deal since Terry Wogan held court, but for many millions, like Peter he was a familiar face and voice, with a safe sense of humor and fun while he was in our homes on our tv's and radios. We have a few of the interviews here in the PCASUK FB fan page video album... each is a gentle chat with both men, who shared a cheeky sense of humor... Fun from another time, but secure in our hearts and memories, for sure....

REMEMBERING: Sir Michael Terence Wogan KBE DL - 3rd August 1938 – 31st January 2016) was an Irish radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in the #UK for most of his career. Between 1993 and his semi retirement in December 2009, his BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme 'Wake Up to Wogan' regularly drew an estimated eight million listeners. He was believed to be the most listened-to radio broadcaster in Europe. In 2005, Wogan acquired British citizenship in addition to his Irish nationality and was therefore entitled to use the title "Sir" in front of his name when he was awarded a #knighthood in the same year. He died from cancer, at his home in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, on 31 January 2016, aged 77.

HAMMER FILMS 'NIGHT CREATURES WITH PETER CUSHING GALLOPS INTO USA WITH COLLECTORS EDITION BLU RAY!

NNEWS
: #ScreamFactory to release Hammer Films 1962 'Night Creatures' aka 'Captain Clegg'  starring #PeterCushing, Patrick Allen, OOliver Reed and Michael Ripper, directed by Peter Graham Scott
Release date: 22nd April 2022. Region A

In the 18th century, a Navy captain (Patrick Allen, When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth) and his sailors investigate the rampaging “marsh phantoms” terrorizing a coastal town, but their search is hindered by Reverend Dr. Blyss (horror legend Peter Cushing) and a horrifying curse. Directed by Peter Graham Scott, this chiller also stars Oliver Reed (The Curse Of The Werewolf), Yvonne Romain (Circus Of Horrors) and Hammer Films regular Michael Ripper (Quatermass And The Pit).

ABOVE : THERE IS A FULL Review of the film and a great gallery of stills with some pretty rare  snaps on set during the making, RIGHT HERE!

Note: Please... don't ask me about the ratio of the print in this release. I am a fan and I love the film, the ratio matters not one jot to me and I am guessing that is the case to most fans who look forward to anything of Hammer's or Cushing's , Lee's Price.. being released.. remastered with extras or otherwise. But ratios? Nope. The UK, Lionsgate, Canal release of many Hammer films on blu ray for the first time was car crashed, because many fans read the internet forums or comments and was confused by the fuss... 'what's wrong with it? Nah, I won't bother buying this one' and the sales were damaged and the new releases cancelled. For those out there who own a lovely 'huge super wide screen plus' housed in an home extention, converted garage or lounge, good for you. If you 'have your very own cinema' wonderful. But if you are purchasing these releases, you are cheapening your passion 😏 These are for the Domestic Market. If you want to fill your screen a 'la moi cinema' I suggest you purchase a cinema print or projection disc, which you will find is FAR more pricey than a domestic dvd or blu ray. You are sourcing from the wrong market. In the near future, we will be losing the fun of purchasing our much loved blu ray and dvd's, we'll be no longer able to slip them onto our collection shelves, with their impressive and colourful artwork and spines. Streaming is the future. If like me you look forward to adding another title to your collection, purchase a title you have been looking out for years, and OWNING... this is all going to change soon. The Covid crisis has affected businesses world-wide, in your town and maybe your livelihood too? Blu ray and home distributor businesses are struggling too, so if you can, support them, while we have them. Thank you - Marcus

WISE WORDS : REMEMBERING ACTOR JOHN HURT TODAY

OVER AT THE Facebook PCASuk Fan Page today, there is quite an impressive show of love and affection as we remember actor, JOHN HURT. Hurts career spanned six decades. He initially came to prominence for his supporting role as Richard Rich in the film A Man for All Seasons (1966). He played leading roles as Quentin Crisp in the film The Naked Civil Servant (1975), John Merrick in David Lynch's biopic The Elephant Man (1980), Winston Smith in the dystopian drama Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), Mr. Braddock in the Stephen Frears drama The Hit (1984), and Stephen Ward in the drama depicting the Profumo affair, Scandal (1989).

HURT is also known for his television roles such as Caligula in I, Claudius (1976), and the War Doctor in Doctor Who. Seventy Seven seems no age to leave us these days. I think there will always be a very sizeable space, left behind now that Hurt is no longer with us...it would take a very considerable talent and skill, to even approach even the sides of that space... 😉We Remember John Hurt today . .
