This is long overdue. Giving the old fans what they've wanted for years.
Seems Disney knows what they're doing. "In our second upcoming novel
created in collaboration with the Lucasfilm Story Group, bestselling
Star Wars veteran James Luceno gives Tarkin the Darth Plagueis
treatment, bringing a legendary character from A New Hope to full,
fascinating life."
This has been unveiled as part of the Star Wars
fiction line: James Luceno's Star Wars: Tarkin (available November 4), delves into the life of the Empire's most notorious Grand Moff;
Kevin Hearne's Star Wars: Heir to the Jedi (available January 2015),
Luke Skywalker's first-person account of the events between A New Hope
and The Empire Strikes Back; and Paul Kemp's Star Wars: Lords of the
Sith (available March 2015), which finds Emperor Palpatine and Darth
Vader stranded on an inhospitable planet, where they must rely solely on
each other, the Force, and their awesome martial skills to prevail.
