WHEN A FAN RECENTLY asked Mark Hamill on Twitter which actor from Star Wars
he wished Luke could've shared a scene with if there was a chance,
Hamill posted a touching reply. Not only did Hamill start with the late
and great Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin, but he said
basically everyone else from the films, calling out the sequel trilogy
actors in particular. In a funny way it's a quintessential Luke
Skywalker response 😊

CUSHING COPY: ROGUE ONE NOT THE FIRST
#ROGUEONE is not the first time that Peter Cushing has had a likiness of his face/ head appear on the big screen... Here is Peter with, his 'chopped noggin' on the set of 'The House That Dripped Blood' (1971)...granted this head didn't cost the earth in CGI effects, and maybe wasn't the most reliable of replica's...but back in the day, we gave it the 'nod'😉

WOULD WE WANT TO SEE TARKIN IN SOLO FILM??!
ON THE SLATE there are an array of standalone #STARWARS movies on the way -- beginning with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December 2016 -- and not long after that, we can expect the extended story of HAN SOLO, with the recent confirmation of Alden Ehrenreich to play the 'new' Han Solo. To quote several Star Wars forums and web features...' Han Solo didn't always fight on the most righteous side of the Galactic Civil War -- at least if this part of the Expanded Universe remains canon. During his younger years he enlisted in the Imperial forces and trained to become a pilot. With that in mind, this seems like a prime opportunity to bring back Grand Moff Tarkin (originally played by the late Peter Cushing in A New Hope) as a central member of The Empire's imposing military.
Tarkin has become a major element on the Star Wars Rebels, and considering the fact that the time-lines more or less seem to line up, it would make perfect sense for him to appear in Han Solo's standalone adventure possibly even accompanied by a wheezing Darth Vader!' (Cinemablend.com)... it seems as though something of Cushing will appear in Rogue One this December, but what do we think about the prospect of Tarkin's character with or without Cushing's appearance in the new Solo film???

WHY I WORE CARPET SLIPPERS WHEN I PLAYED TARKIN IN STAR WARS: IN HIS OWN WORDS: PETER CUSHING CLIP
WATCH PETER CUSHING EXPLAIN HIS
DIALIMA HERE
Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is out and about...the features
and news updates on the net have multiplied many fold...and many mention
Peter Cushing...and if they mention Cushing, you can be sure, they'll
churn-out the Tarkn Slippers story.
The first time I ever knew about,
what is now the legendary tale of Peter wearing carpet slippers on the
set of Star Wars when filming, was back in 1979, when I first met Dave
Prowse, and he told me about Cushing having to wear those
slippers...and why. I thought we had a bit of an exclusive and typed up
the story in the Ten Fun Facts On Star Wars section in the revamped
Peter Cushing Fan Club Journal for November 1979.
As usual sent I a copy
to Peter Cushing and his secretary Joyce Brougton. After a few days, I
received the customary letter from Joyce Brougton, thanking me for the
latest journal, but pointing out that...' Sir, does not have a problem
with his feet, and the fact that he wore carpet slippers during filming,
I am sure it will be of little interest to your readers...' Well, Joyce
it was and still is. And now, here from 1989 is Peter Cushing, for the
first time, explaining the slipper saga himself...... I still have the
letter by the way.

NEWS: STAR WARS TOYS AND TARKINS SLIPPERS: MAY THE TOYS BE WITH YOU EXHIBITION
NEWS: PETER CUSHING 'TARKIN SLIPPERS' AND STAR WAR TOYS: MAY THE TOYS BE WITH YOU!
A collection of Star Wars memorabilia and toys has gone on show at a
museum in Kent. The exhibition, called 'May The Toys Be With You',
opened earlier at The Beaney art museum and library, in Canterbury. It
is the first time the toys and posters, owned by collector Matt Fox, has
been put on public display. It has been timed to coincide with the
release of the new Star Wars film, Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
Back when Star Wars began in 1977 no one could have predicted that the merchandising of Star Wars would actually earn more than the film itself. The toys of Star Wars took the world by storm and became the must have playthings for an entire generation. From 1977 - 1985 an estimated 300 million action figures were sold, allowing children to re-enact the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
May The Toys Be With You is both a celebration of the now highly
collectable vintage toy line and also of the iconic design work and art
of the Star Wars movies. From X-Wing Fighters to lightsabers, these
fantastical designs have fired our imaginations and stamped their place
on our cultural landscape.
As well as the exhibition, there are also associated activities taking
place at the exhibition will be at The Beaney until 6th March 2016.
