THE WOOING OF MRS PEEL' the PCAS feature and Gallery : HERE

Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg, DBE was an English actress. She played Emma Peel in the TV series The Avengers, Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, wife of James Bond, in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones.

As we all know, #DianaRigg worked with #PeterCushing in an episode of The Avengers tv series, 'The Return of the Cybernaughts' broadcast in September 1967. It was a pretty cool story, with a twist of romance between Cushing's character of Paul Beresford and her, #MrsPeel. She worked in the outstanding movie, 'Theatre of Blood' in 1973, with #VincentPrice, playing his devoted daughter, Edwina Lionheart... a much loved black comedy! Diana worked with #ChristopherLee, in 'The Avengers' TV series, 'Never, Never Say Die' in March 1967.

WHEN #HAMMERFILMS PLANNED TO GO ON STAGE!

WHEN HAMMER FILMS PLANNED TO GO ON STAGE! I have no idea what producer and CEO of #Hammerfilms Michael Carreras had in mind for a full scale 'Supernatural and Shocks' theatrical production, but seeing since those times, the enormous success of London West End productions like 'The Woman In Black' and 'Ghost Stories' a superb horror play written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, it's a real shame Hammer didn't push it further. 'The Woman in Black' actually opened in London's West End in 1989 and is still being performed there, becoming the second longest-running non-musical play in West End history, after 'The Mousetrap'! ... and I am sure, Peter would have been superb in a Hammer stage show, if his nerves had held out in a long run.... it may have, if the money was right, brought in 'another' star name, who at this time was appearing in some, like Peter...hits and misses.

LEE DID WORK FOR HAMMER FILMS in 1975, in 'To The Devil A Daughter' it did small business and a short while later, Lee exited out of the back door to the US for ten years... to appear briefly in 'Hammer also briefly-rebooted' 'The Resident' in 2011.

PCASUK FEATURES WITH GALLERIES on Peter Cushing's TWO TYBURN 1975 films, #Legendofthewerewolf and #TheGhoul HERE and HERE!

IN 1975, Peter appeared in two films for Tyburn, 'Legend of the Werewolf' being one, he also appeared in his last Hammer 'film', a small role in 'Shatter'. In 1980, he appeared in the #HammerHouseofHorror tv series episode, 'The Silent Scream' which surprisingly, was a triumph! But back in 1975 'the Hammer Theatre Show' could have been a game changer if it had gone into production? You think? Mind you, '#TheRockyHorrorShow' probably would have stolen it's thunder when the film adaption appeared, ironically filmed at Hammer films old home. . .. Bray Studios! - Marcus

KINO RELEASE BOTH PETER CUSHNG DR WHO AND THE DALEK MOVIES RESTORED FOR USA MARKET

'I Spy With My Little Eye! 😏😉
#KINO released their remastered blu ray of both #PeterCushing #DrWho #Dalek movies from 1965 and 66... today! 😊 Here are two screen caps from the 1965 film, and I see little difference . . The KINO US releases have been produced on a double layer disc - the #StudioCanal UK versions are a single layer. I was expecting something quite different in this restoration, BUT if you have seen the first remasters from Canal, you would see, that there is little, if anything to improve! Both Canal films buzz with colour, the sharpness of the visuals is so sharp, we get to spot many things in the process of the effects, make up and that Dalek spacecraft, maybe we shouldn't... I don't think it could BE any sharper! But, to be fair, I think most of the work on these releases was in the AUDIO dept.

PERSONALLY, I often think in cases like this it's pretty tight to see a difference, it's down to your TV/ monitor/player/spectacles/ if you like tea or coffee, UNLESS it's BIG differences, like from DVD to the first Studio Canal blu rays. . . . fancy a spot of apophenia anyone???😳😩😵

REMEMBERING : ROY CASTLE TODAY

REMEMBERING ROY CASTLE TODAY : To give full credit and accurate listing of Roy castle's career, would take a FB page in it's own right! But in addition to his many talents.. and before being a very familiar face on children's television from 1972 -1993 on BBC TV's 'Record Breakers'.. #RoyCastle appeared with #PeterCushing in three films, '#AmicusFilms 'Dr Terror's House of Horrors' in 1966, '#DrWho and the Daleks' in 1965 and Tyburn Films 'Legend of the Werewolf' in 1975. In all three he supplied, a little drama with a good spoonful of comic relief. Although, Castle makes no mention of any of his film appearances, '#CarryOn Up The Khyber', 'The Plank' in his autobiography, it is for these films and his tv appearances you would think he would mostly be remembered...

CASTLE WAS DIAGNOSED with lung cancer in March 1992, and was told that his chances of recovery were slim and that it was unlikely that he would live for more than six months. A non-smoker, he blamed his illness on passive smoking during his years of playing the trumpet in smoky jazz clubs. Castle carried out the high-profile Tour of Hope to raise funds for the erection of the building that would become the #RoyCastleLungCancerFoundation, which is the only British charity dedicated solely to defeating lung cancer. By this stage, however, his condition was deteriorating and recovery was looking highly unlikely.

HIS WIDOW FIONA worked with the charity after her husband's death, and campaigned for the #British smoking ban which came into effect in #NorthernIreland in 2004, Scotland in 2006 and England and #Wales in 2007, banning smoking in virtually all enclosed public places.

Behind The Scenes Gallery of #DrWhoandtheDaleks : RIGHT HERE!

FOR ME, of his screen performances, I'll take the 'Photographer' in Legend of the Werewolf. Castle had played stooge for many years early in his career on stage with British vaudeville stars Jimmy Clitheroe and Jimmy James... and was very good at it. These skills he once again brought to the Cushing / Werewolf scene.... classic! Missed and very much remembered... Roy Castle, who died today in 1994 aged 62.
