3D CUSHING PRICE AND LEE? YOU CHOOSE! REMEMBERING CAROL MARSH

OVER AT THE FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE,  we are asking everyone to choose ONE film from the careers of  Peter Cushing Vincent Price  and Christopher Lee that they would choose to be REPROCESSED for a release in 3D! There have been many, interesting answers. DO feel free to join in!

TODAY ALSO MARKS THE birthday of actress CAROL MARSH. who had quite a complicated career, that started with the highly respected movie, 'Brighton Rock' in 1948 with a young Richard Attenburough . . which landed her in her one and only role with #PeterCushing, in 'DRACULA' / 'HORROR OF DRACULA' as LUCY in 1958. Various roles in drama and comedy flicks followed, including the role of ALICE in another much loved version of ALICE IN WONDERLAND in 1949. It's for Hammer's first DRACULA though that she is most remembered...but her career was hardly a quiet one.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROL

CAROL MARSH is one of many actresses, who worked with Peter Cushing that PCASUK has covered in its 'Cushing Femme Fatales' series of features. 'The Girl Who Fell Down The Rabbit Hole : The LIFE and CAREER of CAROL MARSH'  has rare clips, gallery images and rare photographs. It can be found HERE!

CHRISTOPHER LEE'S GOT MILK AND YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN WARNER BROTHERS HORROR OF DRACULA BLU RAY!

#THROWBACK THURSDAY! NO BLOOD, BUT GOT MILK! Lee drinks MILK, on the set of the 1974 Bond epic, 'The Man With The Golden Gun'. Like with several of Hammer films productions, the UK Milk Marketing Board filmed an on set visit during production, to grab several of the film's stars and crew, gulping and gagging down gallons of full cream pasteurised moo moo cream. It all made for some free publicity for the movie and some much needed free health promotion for the UK dairy farmers.

I NOTICE THAT NEITHER Lee or Cushing, who did one for Legend of the Seevn Golden Vampires, From Beyond the Grave, Dr Who and the Daleks...are rarely actually SEEN swallowing it, though. They hold it to their chops, but there it seems to end! The UK Milk Marketing Board ran these promos in UK cinemas for many years. It was a neat way to get a peep at some of your fav actors and actresses on set, and a few mins away from cheap and tacky ad's for restaurants, hairdressers and mega bucks ads for killer cigarettes and 'mothers ruin' gin! Happy days 😉

MISS IT AND MISS OUT! NEXT WEEK!

#HAMMERFILMSSATURDAY : THE MUMMY FRONT OF HOUSE

#HAMMERSATURDAY THIS is one of my all time favorite Peter Cushing films. It has it all. Drama, horror, a love story and action! And this is also one of my fav front of house stills. Beautiful colour and action that leaps off the pic! DO YOU have a fav Cushing pic, photo still? Or is there one you have never seen here, that you would like me to post or 'dig up' for you? Let me know!

THE IMAGE that first appeared on some propose artwork for a campaign poster for THE MUMMY.... Cushing saw the light shining through the body of Kharis and asked, 'Is that in our script?' When he was told no, he invented the bit of biz where he shoves a harpoon through the chest of the Mummy Kharis... 'If it's on the poster, our public will expect to see it!' said Cushing

#TBT : THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN: BOX OFFICE TRADE PAPER AND PRESSBOOK

#TBT Box Office and Press Book Material: 'The Curse of Frankenstein' was a world wide hit at the box office both in the UK and USA. Critics in the UK were horrified and generally unkind. Peter Cushing very wisely, took no notice, and his faith in the film was borne out very soon after the initial release with by spectacular box office returns. In the US critics were much kinder, many highlighting Cushing's performance for particular praise, '....Cushing enacts the role of Frankenstein without overacting,' wrote Jim O'Connor in the New York Journal 7th August. 'You could almost hear the nerves snapping in the audience!'
