HAPPY BIRTHDAY ACTOR DAVID WARNER : THE OMEN : STRAW DOGS : TIME BANDITS AND FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE


PLEASE JOIN US in wishing DAVID WARNER a Very Happy Birthday Today! Warner's Cushing connection is the role of Edward Charlton (segment 1 "The Gate Crasher") in Amicus films 'From Beyond The Grave' in 1974. A great story, a fine performance...particularly enjoyed his play with Cushing in the Temptations Ltd store... but what a sticky end!

I & Pt. II"

REMEMBERING PATRICK TROUGHTON


TODAY we remember Patrick Troughton born on this day in 1920. Best remembered for his portrayal of the second incarnation of Doctor Who (1966-69)



ONE OF HIS best known roles being in The Omen (1976). He also made several appearances in Hammer films most notably as Count Dracula's servant Klove in Scars Of Dracula (1970) with Christopher Lee. He co-starred with Peter Cushing in four films Hamlet (1948), The Black Knight (1952), The Gorgon (1964) and Frankenstein And The Monster Hell (1974)




TROUGHTON is also connected to a mysterious casting event, that centres around Cushing's and Hammer films, first Frankenstein films, The Curse of Frankenstein. We did an extensive feature on it, which you can catch up below!

ACTRESS BILLIE WHITELAW DIES


Very sad to hear that actress Billie Whitelaw has died tonight.

Photograph: Billie Whitelaw as Mary Patterson in 'Flesh and the Fiends' starring Peter Cushing in 1960. Whitelaw also appeared with Peter Cushing in 'A Tale of Two Cities' as Madame Therese Defarge in 1980.
