WHAT A DELIGHT, this was.. and were given the treat of #PeterCushing guesting on #TerryWogan's chat show four times from 1986... it was pretty obvious that Wogan had a soft spot for Peter and as Peter got a little more wobbly over those few years, Wogan gave Peter time, space and support should Cushing start giggling at 'losing my train of though' while sharing his stories and chat. Sadly both #BBC TV and radio have changed a great deal since Terry Wogan held court, but for many millions, like Peter he was a familiar face and voice, with a safe sense of humor and fun while he was in our homes on our tv's and radios. We have a few of the interviews here in the PCASUK FB fan page video album... each is a gentle chat with both men, who shared a cheeky sense of humor... Fun from another time, but secure in our hearts and memories, for sure....
REMEMBERING:
Sir Michael Terence Wogan KBE DL - 3rd August 1938 – 31st January 2016)
was an Irish radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in
the #UK
for most of his career. Between 1993 and his semi retirement in
December 2009, his BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme 'Wake Up to
Wogan' regularly drew an estimated eight million listeners. He was
believed to be the most listened-to radio broadcaster in Europe. In
2005, Wogan acquired British citizenship in addition to his Irish
nationality and was therefore entitled to use the title "Sir" in front
of his name when he was awarded a #knighthood in the same year. He died from cancer, at his home in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, on 31 January 2016, aged 77.
