#COMIC OPPORTUNITIES : CREEPY EERIE AND VAMPERELLA!

#COMIC Opportunities! Gentlemen of GOOD Reading! There's nothing like the golden opportunity for PR and marketing people, to actually get rubber stamp and validation of your product, into the hands.. even if one hand IS gloved.. of an associated celebrity in a 'photo-op. Famous Monsters magazine were 'famous for it, as were many others. Here's #PeterCushing and #christopherLee 'holding' some comics you maybe familiar with too!

DESPITE #ChristophreLee's detachment from the concept of Dracula from the late 1970's onwards, there was a time when he was quite engaged in the character and whole exploring of the book... with standard, checked jacket, here he inspects the comic, DRACULA LIVES! I do remember purchasing the very first issue of this comic in the UK, it came with a free little poster. Not sure what Lee makes of this though . . .

PETER CUSHING with a copy of 'EERIE' . . difficult to dat this pic, but costume tells me, it could be during the shooting of the TV series, 'ZOO GANG'. The series is set on the French Riviera in Nice. The guest stars included #PhilipMadoc, Peter and Jacqueline Pearce. #RogerDelgado . . best known for his role as Doctor Who villain #TheMaster, also appeared, although he had died in a car crash prior to the series' broadcast. Peter's episode was called 'The Counterfeit Trap' broadcast May 3rd 1974. Plot is, the gang decides to stop a gold-smuggling ring, paying for the gold with counterfeit French Francs. Alec gets arrested when the police think he killed the couriers. Peter Cushing stars as the local investigating magistrate with Jacqueline Pearce as his wife. It was directed by #JohnnyHough, who directed Peter in 'Twins of Evil' and 'Biggles'

NOT A CANDID opportunity shot, but a publicity photograph of Peter Cushing as Dr Who, studying the UK Eagle comic in the 'Dr Who and the Daleks' (1965).. a really nice touch...

AGAIN . . .at the Festival du Film Fantastique de Paris 1974.. where someone has slipped him a copy of the #Vamperella... a concept that Peter was going to sat in for Hammer films... comic into his hands.. and taken a snap.
