LONG LOST 70'S HORROR FILM FOUND AND DUE FOR RELEASE THIS SUMMER!

BREAKING NEWS........ Amazing NEWS! The long thought LOST 1970's film 'The Naked Eye' starring both #PeterCushing and #VincentPrice, is due for release this summer. The Naked Eye, which was found last year, in the private collection of film producer the late, Linton Buttzoctsky, was never released owing to various production problems while shooting the film. One particular set of problems, almost brought the film to a stand still, when on location filming a banquet and dance sequence. Items of props and costumes connected to both Cushing and Price roles were lost. During a banquet scene, where Price's role of master chef Egbert Nosh, revealed his main dish, with a large roasted chicken, the unveiled cooked bird on the plateau was obviously an ostrich! It was later revealed, the actual featured chicken dish, had been mistakenly eaten by an extra. While filming a grand dance sequence, Cushing's dance shoes could not be found or even a pair that actually fitted him. As a compromise, his dance routine with actress, #IngridPitt was almost all shot in close up. Despite this, Cushing could be seen to be waltzing in wellington boots in some long shots of the ballroom. The news of the release is expected to prompt much interest among fans and film critics alike. We'll keep you posted 😉 -Marcus Brooks

PASSINGS AND BIRTHDAYS MARKED AND CELEBRATED TODAY

IT IS VERY SAD TO TO HEAR about the passing of actor, Windsor Davies tonight. Windsor Davies was a Welsh actor who performed in many films and television shows between 1964 and 2004. And probably not that well know over the Atlantic, unless you are a Hammer film /Cushing fan too. Davies played the Police Sargent, who investigated the home of Veronica Carlson's home.. which was also the hidden lab and slaughter house of one, Baron Frankenstein, played by Peter Cushing.

IT WAS ONE of the most tense scenes I can remeber in a Cushing Frankenstein film. And, Windsor played it very well indeed. To everyone else, he is best known for playing the part of Battery Sergeant Major Williams in the British sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum. His deep Welsh-accented voice was heard extensively in advertising voice-overs. Goodnight Windsor, you were a thundering force on stage and screen. Noson dda, Bendithiwch chi a Diolch. . .😌😉

BORN TODAY and remembered, EDGAR ALLAN POE. Such a talented and clever writer, such a sad and tragic life. Poe was an American writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre, which at times have adapted to the big screen very well, for Vincent Price in particular. The Peter Cushing connection is a short story which made part of the Amicus films, 'Torture Garden' collection in 1967. It presented one of the most interesting pieces of casting for Cushing, with Peter locked in a battle of possession, ego and wits with Jack Palance. I think Poe would have loved it! Happy Birthday Edgar. You are so missed and appreciated . .

FIND OUT MORE about CUSHING AND PALANCE in Amicus films 'TORTURE GARDEN' in PART TWO of our Amicus Films  of Peter Cushing PART TWO : HERE!

TODAY also please join us in wishing, the lovely Linda Hayden a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY today! A talented actress best known her her roles in Hammer's Taste The Blood Of Dracula (1970), Tigon's Blood On Satan's Claw (1970) and Amicus/AIP's Madhouse (1974) with Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. We have spent motre than a little time in the past celebrating the career and roles of Linda's over the years, and one click and question into google or here at  our posts at the PCAS WEBSITE ON LINDA, will present you with Galleries and Feature! Happy Birthday, LINDA HAYDEN! 😊😉😀

THE EVANSON TOUCH WITH CUSHING PRICE AND LEE ARTWORK : CUSHING COLLECTING WEDNESDAY

#COLLECTINGCUSHING Wednesday! Andrew Evanson has been busy! Here's his latest set of three individual pieces of artwork, each featuring the face of one of the fearsome three! See if you too can work out the influence of the text or design in the back ground of each portrait? Nice touch! Each would make a fine addition to anyone's Cushing Collection! Andrew has told me... ' I did them on my ipad Pro 12.9' with an apple pencil using Auto Desk Sketchbook Pro. They have been done to match my colour scheme as the intention is to frame them. Obviously, as they are digital, I can easily print them off onto A4 using archival quality paper and inks if people are interested but any larger prints would have to be done through a print firm' ....Thank you Andrew for sending this in today😉

Remembering Today.. the birthday of director Roy Ward Baker, whose work with Peter Cushing includes 'Asylum', 'And Now, The Screaming Starts!'. 'The Vampire Lovers' with Amicus films. 'The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires for Hammer films and 'The Masks of Death' with Peter Cushing for Tyburn films. Starting as a tea boy at the Gainsborough Studios in London in 1934, raising to the role of assistant director with Alfred Hitchcock on 'The Lady Vanishes' by 1939, then onto a career as director in Hollywood, working with Marilyn Monroe...Ward Baker had a very full career that covered just about every genre! Today we remember his birthday and the contribution to not only Peter Cushing's career, but the the world of cinema...

ABOVE AND THE LINK HERE! is for a great feature I put together a few years ago, in which WARD BAKER talks about Peter and the several different films he made with him!

CAN YOU SOLVE THIS TOUGH QUESTION? PLUS 'THE BEAST MUST DIE' RARE PRESS STILLS

A REVAMP to our usual 'Cushing Tuesday Toughy' Banner.. but the questions are of course, just as tricky and maybe tough.DO have a go! Answer will be here on Friday. BUT if you want to join in the fun and think you have CRACKED IT, why not skip over to our FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE where this has just been posted too, and post your ANSWER in the post thread!? Good Luck!

'A PHOTOGRAPH FROM CUSHING'S 'THE BEAST MUST DIE' PLEASE!' is the request from ARTY FACE at the THE FACEBOOK PACS FAN PAGE! YUP! YOUR REQUEST AND WISH is granted, Arty! A RARELY seen press publicity photograph of Peter Cushing as Dr. Christopher Lundgren, in Amicus films, 'The Beast Must Die' from 1974. Interestingly, Around 1972, Robert (Jaws) Shaw expressed an interest in playing the lead role of Tom Newcliffe in this film. Shaw's career had turned a little quiet and the bills had not! Calvin Lockhart got the lead instead! Hammer films, Don (Kiss of the Vampire) Sharp was the first approached to be director.

'THE BEAST MUST DIE' was eventually directed by Paul Annett, who seriously objected to producer Milton Subotsky's idea of the 'Werewolf Break' gimmick, where the audience were invited to guess 'who the werewolf is!' Subotsky actually hated the script and the film, and 'Beast' was the last horror film produced by Amicus, in which co-founder Subotsky had the involvement of producer...and it all went sadly pear shaped and sour. IS BEAST one of your FAV Cushing Amicus films? Me? I wish it was, but sadly not...
